Surah Ash-Shuraa (Consultation) — سورة الشورى - **Verse:** 20 / 53 · **Juz:** 25 · **Mushaf page:** 484 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-ash-shuraa/verse-20 ## Arabic مَنْ كَانَ يُر۪يدُ حَرْثَ الْاٰخِرَةِ نَزِدْ لَهُ ف۪ي حَرْثِه۪ۚ وَمَنْ كَانَ يُر۪يدُ حَرْثَ الدُّنْيَا نُؤْتِه۪ مِنْهَا وَمَا لَهُ فِي الْاٰخِرَةِ مِنْ نَص۪يبٍ ## Transcription Man kana yureedu hartha al-akhiratinazid lahu fee harthihi waman kana yureedu harthaaddunya nu/tihi minha wama lahu feeal-akhirati min naseeb ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley If anyone desires to cultivate the Next World, We will increase him in his cultivation. If anyone desires to cultivate this world, We will give him some of it but he will have no share in the Next World. ### Progressive Muslims Whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter, We will increase for him his harvest. And whoever seeks the harvest of this world, We will give him therefrom, and he will have no share in the Hereafter. ### Shabbir Ahmed Whoever desires the harvest of the life to come, We increase his harvest. And whoever desires only the harvest of this world, We give him something thereof, but he will have no share in the life to come. (Individuals and nations attain prosperity in both lives only by submitting to the Divine Values (17:19-21)). ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation Whoso desires the harvest of the Hereafter, We increase him in his harvest. The one who wants to receive the reward of his deeds in this world, I will give it to him here on one to one basis; however, in the Hereafter, he will receive no share whatsoever. ### Al-Hilali & Khan Whosoever desires (by his deeds) the reward of the Hereafter, We give him increase in his reward, and whosoever desires the reward of this world (by his deeds), We give him thereof (what is decreed for him), and he has no portion in the Hereafter. ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali To any that desires the tilth of the Hereafter, We give increase in his tilth, and to any that desires the tilth of this world, We grant somewhat thereof, but he has no share or lot in the Hereafter. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran Whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter, We will increase their harvest.
