Surah Ash-Shu'ara (The Poets) — سورة الشعراء - **Verse:** 6 / 227 · **Juz:** 19 · **Mushaf page:** 366 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-ash-shuara/verse-6 ## Arabic فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا فَسَيَأْت۪يهِمْ اَنْبٰٓؤُ۬ا مَا كَانُوا بِه۪ يَسْتَهْزِؤُ۫نَ ## Transcription Faqad kaththaboo fasaya/teehim anbaoma kanoo bihi yastahzi-oon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley They have denied the truth, but the news of what they mocked will certainly come to them. ### Progressive Muslims They have denied, thus the news will come to them of what they used to ridicule. ### Shabbir Ahmed Thus indeed have they rejected this Message. But [in time] they will come to understand what it was that they were wont to deride! ### Marmaduke Pickthall Now they have denied (the Truth); but there will come unto them tidings of that whereat they used to scoff. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary They will soon come to know the truth of that which they have been scoffing at.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] That is, the people who show lack of feeling and interest for every rational attempt made to bring them to the right way, cannot be made to believe forcibly by sending down signs from heaven. They only deserve to be shown their evil end after they have been duly warned and shown guidance, which they not only treated with indifference but rejected scornfully. This evil end can be shown to them in several ways. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab They labelled the truth -the Quran- as falsehood and counseled deaf to it.
