# 94. Surah Ash-Sharh

_In the name of God, the Almighty, the Merciful._

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ

## Verse 1

اَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَۙ

Alam nashrah laka sadrak

Did We not expand thy breast for thee,

## Verse 2

وَوَضَعْنَا عَنْكَ وِزْرَكَۙ

WawadaAAna AAanka wizrak

And lay down from thee thy burden

## Verse 3

اَلَّـذ۪ٓي اَنْقَضَ ظَهْرَكَۙ

Allathee anqada thahrak

Which weighed down thy back?

## Verse 4

وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَۜ

WarafaAAna laka thikrak

And We raised for thee thy remembrance.

## Verse 5

فَاِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْراًۙ

Fa-inna maAAa alAAusri yusra

And with hardship is ease.

## Verse 6

اِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْراًۜ

Inna maAAa alAAusri yusra

With hardship is ease.

## Verse 7

فَاِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْۙ

Fa-itha faraghta fansab

So when thou art unoccupied, make thou ready,

## Verse 8

وَاِلٰى رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ

Wa-ila rabbika farghab

And to thy Lord turn thou thy desire.
