Surah As-Sajdah (The Prostration) — سورة السجدة - **Verse:** 14 / 30 · **Juz:** 21 · **Mushaf page:** 415 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-as-sajdah/verse-14 ## Arabic فَذُوقُوا بِمَا نَس۪يتُمْ لِقَٓاءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هٰذَاۚ اِنَّا نَس۪ينَاكُمْ وَذُوقُوا عَذَابَ الْخُلْدِ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ## Transcription Fathooqoo bima naseetum liqaayawmikum hatha inna naseenakum wathooqooAAathaba alkhuldi bima kuntum taAAmaloon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley So taste it. Because you forgot the meeting of this Day, We have forgotten you. Taste the punishment of eternal timelessness for what you did.’ ### Progressive Muslims So taste the consequences of your forgetting this Day; for We have now forgotten you. And taste the eternal retribution in return for what you used to do. ### Shabbir Ahmed It will be said, "Taste you then, for you remained oblivious of this Day of yours, and so, now We forget you - taste the lasting doom for what you used to do. And taste the punishment of eternity for what you used to do." ### Muhammad Asad [And He will say unto the sinners:] "Taste, then, [the recompense] for your having been obli­vious of the coming of this your Day [of Judgment] - for, verily, We are [now] oblivious of you: taste, then, [this] abiding suffering for all [the evil] that you were wont to do!" ### Marmaduke Pickthall So taste (the evil of your deeds). Forasmuch as ye forgot the meeting of this your day, lo! We forget you. Taste the doom of immortality because of what ye used to do. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary So taste the chastisement on account of your forgetting the encounter of this Day.[1] We, too, have forgotten you.
