Surah Ar-Rum (The Romans) — سورة الروم - **Verse:** 13 / 60 · **Juz:** 21 · **Mushaf page:** 404 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-ar-rum/verse-13 ## Arabic وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُمْ مِنْ شُرَكَٓائِهِمْ شُفَعٰٓؤُ۬ا وَكَانُوا بِشُرَكَٓائِهِمْ كَافِر۪ينَ ## Transcription Walam yakun lahum min shuraka-ihimshufaAAao wakanoo bishuraka-ihim kafireen ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley None of their partner-gods will intercede for them. They will reject their partner-gods. ### Progressive Muslims And they did not have any intercessors from the partners they set up, and they will reject such partners. ### Shabbir Ahmed Their 'idols' will not be able to stand up for them, rather, they will reject one another. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation And there will be no intercessors for them among their partners; and they will deny their partners. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation And they did not have any intercessors from the partners they set up, and they will reject such partners. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament Their idols will have no power to intercede on their behalf; on the contrary, they will disown their idols. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira No intercessor will they have among those they associated (with God), and will reject their partners. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) And there will not be for them among their [alleged] partners any intercessors, and they will [then] be disbelievers in their partners. ### Muhammad Asad for they will have no intercessors in the beings to whom they were wont to ascribe a share in God’s divinity, seeing that [by then] they themselves will have ceased to believe in their erstwhile blasphemous fancies. ### Marmaduke Pickthall There will be none to intercede for them of those whom they made equal with Allah. And they will reject their partners (whom they ascribed unto Him). ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary None whom they had associated with Allah in His Divinity will intercede on their behalf;[1] rather, they will disown those whom they had set up as Allah's associates in His Divinity.[2] _Footnotes_ - [1] "Associates" (shuraka) includes three kinds of beings: - [2] (1) The angels, prophets, saints, martyrs and the righteous men, to whom the polytheists assigned divine attributes and powers in different ages and whom they worshiped as gods. On Resurrection Day, they will say to their worshipers, "You did whatever you did without our consent, rather against our teachings and guidance. Therefore, we have nothing to do with you. Do not place any hope in us that we will intercede for you before Allah Almighty." ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab And none of their predominant partners can present himself or itself to intercede on their behalf nor interpose a veto upon Allah's decision. On the contrary, they -the guilty- shall themselves deny, curse and condemn those partners. ### Bijan Moeinian Then none of those whom they worshipped beside the Lord [their idols, women, wealth, "superiors", etc. ] can be of any help to them. Artık onlar ortak koştukları şeyleri de inkar ederler. ### Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır — Kur'an-ı Kerim ve Yüce Meali Kendilerine şeriklerinden şefaat edenler de bulunmaz, şeriklerine hep kafir olmuşlardır ### Elmalılı (sadeleştirilmiş) Ortak koştuklarından kendilerine şefaat edenler de bulunmaz. Ortaklarını da inkar etmişlerdir. ### Gültekin Onan (Tanrı'ya eş koştukları) Ortaklarından kendilerine şefaatçı olan yoktur; onlar, ortaklarını inkar ediyorlar. ### Hasan Basri Çantay — Kur'an-ı Hakim ve Meal-i Kerim Ortaklarından da kendilerine şefaatcılar olmamışdır (olmayacakdır).
