Surah An-Nur (The Light) — سورة النور - **Verse:** 38 / 64 · **Juz:** 18 · **Mushaf page:** 354 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-an-nur/verse-38 ## Arabic لِيَجْزِيَهُمُ اللّٰهُ اَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا وَيَز۪يدَهُمْ مِنْ فَضْلِه۪ۜ وَاللّٰهُ يَرْزُقُ مَنْ يَشَٓاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ ## Transcription Liyajziyahumu Allahu ahsana maAAamiloo wayazeedahum min fadlihi wallahuyarzuqu man yashao bighayri hisab ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley so that Allah can reward them for the best of what they did and give them more from His unbounded favour. Allah provides for anyone He wills without reckoning. ### Progressive Muslims God will reward them for the best of what they did, and He will increase them from His grace. And God provides for whom He pleases without any price. ### Shabbir Ahmed That Allah may reward them for the best of what they did and increase for them His Bounty. For, Allah grants sustenance of mind and body according to His Laws, beyond count. (2:261). ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation That God might reward them for the best of what they did, and increase them out of His bounty; and God gives provision to whom He wills without reckoning. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation God will reward them for the best of what they did, and He will increase them from His grace. And Allah gives provision to whom He wills without account. ### Muhammad Asad [and who only hope] that God may reward them in accordance with the best that they ever did, and give them, out of His bounty, more [than they deserve]: for, God grants sustenance unto whom He wills, beyond all reckon­ing. ### Marmaduke Pickthall That Allah may reward them with the best of what they did, and increase reward for them of His bounty. Allah giveth blessings without stint to whom He will. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary (people who do all this so) that Allah may reward them in accordance with the best that they did; indeed He will bestow upon them more out of His Bounty, for Allah grants whomsoever He wills beyond all measure.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] Here those characteristics have been described which are necessary for the true perception of Allah’s Absolute Light and for benefiting from His bounties. Allah does not bestow His bounties without reason. He bestows them on the deserving ones alone. He only sees this that the recipient has sincere love for Him, stands in awe of Him, seeks His favors and avoids His wrath; he is not lost in material pursuits but in spite of his worldly engagements keeps his heart warm with God’s remembrance. Such a person does not rest content with low spiritual levels, but actively endeavors to attain the heights towards which his master may guide him. He does not go for the paltry gains of this transitory world, but has his gaze constantly fixed on the everlasting life of the Hereafter. These are the things which determine whether or not a person should be granted the favor to benefit from Allah’s Light. Then, when Allah is pleased to bestow His bounties, He bestows them without measure; and it will be man’s own incapacity if he does not receive them in full. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab By consequence shall Allah requite them for every deed at the gauge of the best of what they had accomplished and shall make all grace abound in them, Allah provides livelihood and fits out meritoriously and/ or gratuitously whom He will with what He will and with what is necessary for a certain purpose. ### Bijan Moeinian God will raise their good acts to the heaven and increase their reward out of His Grace; after all, God can shower anyone He wills without measure. ### Al-Hilali & Khan That Allâh may reward them according to the best of their deeds, and add even more for them out of His Grace. And Allah provides for whoever He wills without limit. ### Taqi Usmani The fate (of such people) is that Allah will reward them for the best deeds they did, and will give them more out of His grace. Allah gives whom He wills without counting. ### Abdul Haleem God will reward such people according to the best of their actions, and He will give them more of His bounty: God provides limitlessly for anyone He will. ### Arthur John Arberry that God may recompense them for their fairest works and give them increase of His bounty; and God provides whomsoever He will, without reckoning. ### E.
