Surah An-Nisa (The Women) — سورة النساء - **Verse:** 85 / 176 · **Juz:** 5 · **Mushaf page:** 90 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-an-nisa/verse-85 ## Arabic مَنْ يَشْفَعْ شَفَاعَةً حَسَنَةً يَكُنْ لَهُ نَص۪يبٌ مِنْهَاۚ وَمَنْ يَشْفَعْ شَفَاعَةً سَيِّئَةً يَكُنْ لَهُ كِفْلٌ مِنْهَاۜ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُق۪يتاً ## Transcription Man yashfaAA shafaAAatan hasanatanyakun lahu naseebun minha waman yashfaAA shafaAAatansayyi-atan yakun lahu kiflun minha wakana AllahuAAala kulli shay-in muqeeta ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Those who join forces for good will receive a reward for it. Those who join forces for evil will be answerable for it. Allah gives all things what they deserve. ### Progressive Muslims Whoever intercedes a good intercession, he will have a reward of it; and whoever intercedes an evil intercession, he will receive a share of it. And God has control over all things. ### Shabbir Ahmed Whoever rallies to a cause that benefits people shall have a share in its blessings, and whoever rallies to a cause that creates injustice, shall be answerable for his part in it. And ever is Allah, over all things, a Keeper. ### Muhammad Asad Whoever rallies to a good cause shall have a share in its blessings; and whoever rallies to an evil cause shall be answerable for his part in it: for, indeed, God watches over everything. ### Marmaduke Pickthall Whoso interveneth in a good cause will have the reward thereof, and whoso interveneth in an evil cause will bear the consequence thereof. Allah overseeth all things. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary He who intercedes in a good cause shall share in its good result, and he who intercedes in an evil cause shall share in its burden.[1] Allah watches over everything. _Footnotes_ - [1] It is all a matter of choice and luck. One has the opportunity to struggle for the cause of God, and to urge others to strive for it in order to raise the banner of the Truth and be rewarded by God for so doing. Likewise, one also has the opportunity to expend one's energy trying to create misunderstanding among God's creatures and to demoralize people in their struggle for His cause thus incurring His chastisement. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab He who mediates or intervenes for the purpose of reconciling persons shall have a share of his good grace allotted to him by Providence. And he who mediates with a bad grace and for the purpose of an evil cause and/or selfish motive principles shall share the consequences of his ill grace. There is Providence that watches over innocence and folly, and keeps a vigilant eye upon everything and every action. ### Bijan Moeinian The one who wishes the best [and engage in a good deed] will get a share from it and the one who entertains the evil thoughts [and participate in an evil deed], will be caught in its consequences. Allah, her şeye hakkıyla kadir ve nazır'dır. ### Muhammed Esed — Kur'an Mesajı Kim haklı bir dava uğrunda üstün çaba gösterirse, onun kazandıracağı nimetlerden bir pay alacaktır ve kim de haksız bir dava için koşturursa, sorumluluğunun hesabını verecektir: Çünkü Allah, her şeyi gözetleyicidir. ### Süleyman Ateş — Kur'an-ı Kerim ve Yüce Meali Kim güzel bir (işe) destek olursa, onun da o işten bir payı olur.
