Surah An-Nisa (The Women) — سورة النساء - **Verse:** 162 / 176 · **Juz:** 6 · **Mushaf page:** 102 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-an-nisa/verse-162 ## Arabic لٰكِنِ الرَّاسِخُونَ فِي الْعِلْمِ مِنْهُمْ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَٓا اُنْزِلَ اِلَيْكَ وَمَٓا اُنْزِلَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ وَالْمُق۪يم۪ينَ الصَّلٰوةَ وَالْمُؤْتُونَ الزَّكٰوةَ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللّٰهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْاٰخِرِۜ اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ سَنُؤْت۪يهِمْ اَجْراً عَظ۪يماً۟ ## Transcription Lakini arrasikhoonafee alAAilmi minhum walmu/minoona yu/minoona bimaonzila ilayka wama onzila min qablika walmuqeemeenaassalata walmu/toona azzakatawalmu/minoona billahi walyawmi al-akhiriola-ika sanu/teehim ajran AAatheema ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley But those of them who are firmly rooted in knowledge, and the muminun, have iman in what has been sent down to you and what was sent down before you: those who establish salat and pay zakat, and have iman in Allah and the Last Day – We will pay such people an immense wage. ### Progressive Muslims But those of them who are firm in knowledge, as well as the believers, they believe in what was sent down to you and what was sent down before you; and those who hold the contact-method, and those who contribute towards betterment, and those who believe in God and the Last Day; to these We will give them their reward greatly. ### Shabbir Ahmed Among them (the Jews) are those who are well founded in knowledge. And have attained conviction in what has been revealed to you, and in what was revealed before you. They are supporters of the Divine System and of the Just Economic Order, believers in Allah and in the Last Day. We shall soon give them an immense reward. (Islam is for all humanity. Any prior affiliations are irrelevant (2:62), (3:19), (4:125)). ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation But those firm in knowledge and the believers among them believe in what is sent down to thee, and what was sent down before thee, as do the upholders of the duty, and the renderers of the purity, and the believers in God and the Last Day — those will We give a great reward. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation But those of them who are well founded in knowledge, and the believers, they believe in what was sent down to you and what was sent down before you; and those who hold the contact prayer, and those who contribute towards purification, and those who believe in God and the Last Day; to these We will give them their recompense greatly. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament As for those among them who are well founded in knowledge, and the believers, they believe in what was revealed to you, and in what was revealed before you. They are observers of the Contact Prayers (Salat), and givers of the obligatory charity (Zakat); they are believers in GOD and the Last Day. We grant these a great recompense. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira But to the learned among them, and the believers who affirm what has been revealed to you and was revealed to those before you, and to those who fulfil their devotional obligations, who pay the zakat and believe in God and the Last Day, We shall give a great reward. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) But those firm in knowledge among them and the believers believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muúammad], and what was revealed before you. And the establishers of prayer [especially] and the givers of zakah and the believers in Allah and the Last Day - those We will give a great reward. ### Muhammad Asad But as for those from among them who are deeply rooted in knowledge, and the believers who believe in that which has been bestowed upon thee from on high as well as that which was bestowed from on high before thee, and those who are [es­pecially] constant in prayer, and spend in charity, and all who believe in God and the Last Day - these it is unto whom We shall grant a mighty reward. ### Marmaduke Pickthall But those of them who are firm in knowledge and the believers believe in that which is revealed unto thee, and that which was revealed before thee, especially the diligent in prayer and those who pay the poor-due, the believers in Allah and the Last Day. Upon these We shall bestow immense reward. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Those among them who are firmly rooted in knowledge and the believers, such do believe in what has been revealed to you and what was revealed before you.[1] (Those who truly believe) establish the Prayer and pay Zakah, those who firmly believe in Allah and in the Last Day, to them We shall indeed pay a great reward. _Footnotes_ - [1] Those well acquainted with the true teachings of the Scriptures, and whose minds are free from prejudice, obduracy, blind imitation of their forefathers and bondage to animal desires, will be disposed to follow those teachings. Their attitude is bound to be altogether different from the general attitude of those Jews apparently immersed in unbelief and transgression. Such people realize, even at first glance, that the Qur'anic teaching is essentially the same as that of the previous Prophets, and hence feel no difficulty in affirming it. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab But those of them with well-founded knowledge who are acquainted with the facts, whose hearts have been touched with the divine hand, are they who give credence to all that has been revealed to you Muhammad and to all that was revealed to those who were sent before you; they constantly observe their act of worship and give alms, they believe in Allah and in the Day of Resurrection with hearts impressed with the image of religious and spiritual virtues. It is those whom We shall requite with a great reward. ### Bijan Moeinian As to those of them who have devoted themselves to the discovery of the truth, have chosen to believe, believe in what is revealed to you as well as the previous Prophets, worship God on regular basis, engage in charity and believe in God and the Day of Judgment, I will give them a great reward. ### Al-Hilali & Khan But those among them who are well-grounded in knowledge, and the believers, believe in what has been sent down to you (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) and what was sent down before you; and those who perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât ), and give Zakât and believe in Allâh and in the Last Day, it is they to whom We shall give a great reward. ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali But those among them who are well-grounded in knowledge, and the believers, believe in what hath been revealed to thee and what was revealed before thee: And (especially) those who establish regular prayer and practise regular charity and believe in Allah and in the Last Day: To them shall We soon give a great reward. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran But those with solid knowledge among them and those with true faith believe in what has been revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ and what was revealed before you—˹especially˺ those who establish prayer—and those who pay alms-tax and believe in Allah and the Last Day, to these ˹people˺ We will grant a great reward. ### Taqi Usmani But those well-grounded in knowledge among them, and the believers, believe in what has been revealed to you and what has been revealed before you, -as well as those observing Salāh and paying Zakāh, and those believing in Allah and the Last Day.
