Surah An-Nisa (The Women) — سورة النساء - **Verse:** 141 / 176 · **Juz:** 5 · **Mushaf page:** 100 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-an-nisa/verse-141 ## Arabic اَلَّذ۪ينَ يَتَرَبَّصُونَ بِكُمْۚ فَاِنْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فَتْحٌ مِنَ اللّٰهِ قَالُٓوا اَلَمْ نَكُنْ مَعَكُمْۘ وَاِنْ كَانَ لِلْكَافِر۪ينَ نَص۪يبٌۙ قَالُٓوا اَلَمْ نَسْتَحْوِذْ عَلَيْكُمْ وَنَمْنَعْكُمْ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِن۪ينَۜ فَاللّٰهُ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِۜ وَلَنْ يَجْعَلَ اللّٰهُ لِلْكَافِر۪ينَ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِن۪ينَ سَب۪يلاً۟ ## Transcription Allatheena yatarabbasoonabikum fa-in kana lakum fathun mina Allahi qalooalam nakun maAAakum wa-in kana lilkafireena naseebunqaloo alam nastahwith AAalaykum wanamnaAAkummina almu/mineena fallahu yahkumu baynakumyawma alqiyamati walan yajAAala Allahu lilkafireenaAAala almu/mineena sabeela ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Those who anticipate the worst for you say, ‘Were we not with you?’ whenever you gain a victory from Allah, but if the kuffar have a success they say, ‘Did we not have the upper hand over you and yet in spite of that keep the muminun away from you?’ Allah will judge between you on the Day of Rising. Allah will not give the kuffar any way against the muminun. ### Progressive Muslims Those who linger and observe you, if you have a victory from God they Say: "Were we not with you" And if the rejecters have success, they Say: "Did we not side with you and deter the believers from you" God will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection, and God will not grant the rejecters any success over the believers. ### Shabbir Ahmed (The hypocrites adopt the opportunistic attitude. ) They watch you and wait. If a victory comes to you from Allah, they say, "Weren't we with you?" And if the rejecters get a portion of success, they say, "Did we not side with you and protect you from the believers?" Allah will judge between you all on the Day of Resurrection. Allah will not give the rejecters (of the Qur'an) any way of success against the true believers in the Qur'an. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation Those who watch and wait with regard to you. Then if there be a victory for you from God they say: “Were we not with you?” but if there be for the false claimers of guidance a portion they say: “Did we not gain mastery over you, but defended you against the believers?” And God will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection; and God makes not for the false claimers of guidance any path against the believers. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation Those who linger and observe you, if you have a victory from God they say: "Were we not with you?" And if the rejecters have success, they say: "Did we not side with you and deter the believers from you?" God will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection, and God will not grant the rejecters any success over the believers. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament They watch you and wait; if you attain victory from GOD, they say (to you), "Were we not with you?" But if the disbelievers get a turn, they say (to them), "Did we not side with you, and protect you from the believers?" GOD will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection. GOD will never permit the disbelievers to prevail over the believers. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira Those who wait to see what befalls you, say in ease success comes to you from God: "Were we not with you?" But if fortune favours the infidels, they say: "Did we not overpower you, and yet protected you against the believers?" But God will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection; and God will never give the unbelievers a way over the faithful. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) Those who wait [and watch] you. Then if you gain a victory from Allah, they say, "Were we not with you?" But if the disbelievers have a success, they say [to them], "Did we not gain the advantage over you, but we protected you from the believers?" Allah will judge between [all of] you on the Day of Resurrection, and never will Allah give the disbelievers over the believers a way [to overcome them]. ### Muhammad Asad who but wait to see what betides you: thus, if triumph comes to you from God, they say, "Were we not on your side?"- whereas if those who deny the truth are in luck, they say [to them], "Have we not earned your affection by defending you against those be­lievers?'' But God will judge between you all on the Day of Resurrection; and never will God allow those who deny the truth to harm the believers. ### Marmaduke Pickthall Those who wait upon occasion in regard to you and, if a victory cometh unto you from Allah, say: Are we not with you? and if the disbelievers meet with a success say: Had we not the mastery of you, and did we not protect you from the believers? - Allah will judge between you at the Day of Resurrection, and Allah will not give the disbelievers any way (of success) against the believers. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary These hypocrites watch you closely: if victory is granted to you by Allah, they will say: 'Were we not with you?' And were the unbelievers to gain the upper hand, they will say: 'Did we not have mastery over you, and yet we protected you from the believers?'[1] It is Allah Who will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection, and He will not allow the unbelievers, in any way, to gain advantage over the believers. _Footnotes_ - [1] This is typical of the hypocrites of every age. Such people try to avail themselves of all the benefits which can accrue from a verbal profession of Islam and identification with the Islamic community. They also try to secure the advantages to be obtained by associating with the unbelievers, by assuring them in every possible way about themselves that they are not 'fanatic Muslims', that their association with the Muslims is only nominal. On the other hand, they never fail to assure the unbelievers that their loyalties and concerns are the same as theirs, that in mental outlook, cultural orientation and taste they are in harmony with them, and that if a decisive conflict between Islam and unbelief were to take place, their weight will certainly be on the side of the latter. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Such persons are they who watch you closely and they are on the watch for opportunities. If Allah graces you with His tutelage and victory sits on your helm, they desire with expectation to share the credit and they interpret their thoughts in words; they say to you: "Have we not been on your side!" And if the infidels who deny Allah are befallen with good fortune they say to them: "Did we not back you up and avert the disaster which would have befallen you at the hands of the Muslims?" Allah shall judge between you on the Day of Resurrection and Judgement and never shall Allah advantage the cause of the infidels over that of the Muslims. ### Bijan Moeinian The latter are those who want you to give them credit for their "support", if you win and ask for credit from your enemies, if they win. God will judge their case in the Day of Judgment. Rest assured that God will never give the [final] victory to the disbelievers over the believers. ### Al-Hilali & Khan Those (hypocrites) who wait and watch about you; if you gain a victory from Allâh, they say: "Were we not with you?" But if the disbelievers gain a success, they say (to them): "Did we not gain mastery over you and did we not protect you from the believers?" Allâh will judge between you (all) on the Day of Resurrection. And never will Allâh grant to the disbelievers a way (to triumph) over the believers. ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali (These are) the ones who wait and watch about you: if ye do gain a victory from Allah, they say: "Were we not with you?"- but if the unbelievers gain a success, they say (to them): "Did we not gain an advantage over you, and did we not guard you from the believers?" but Allah will judge betwixt you on the Day of Judgment. And never will Allah grant to the unbelievers a way (to triumphs) over the believers. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran ˹The hypocrites are˺ those who wait to see what happens to you. So if Allah grants you victory, they say ˹to you˺, "Were we not on your side?" But if the disbelievers have a share ˹of victory˺, they say ˹to them˺, “Did we not have the advantage over you, yet we protected you from the believers?” Allah will judge between ˹all of˺ you on the Day of Judgment. And Allah will never grant the disbelievers a way over the believers. ### Taqi Usmani - those who look for (a misfortune for) you, so, if there is a victory for you, they say, "Were we not with you?" But if there is a gain for the disbelievers, they say (to them), “Had we not overpowered you, still protected you from the believers?” So, Allah will decide between you on the Doomsday. Allah shall never give the disbelievers a way against the believers. ### Abdul Haleem The [hypocrites] wait to see what happens to you and, if God brings you success, they say, ‘Were we not on your side?’ but if the disbelievers have some success, they say to them, ‘Did we not have the upper hand over you, and [yet] protect you from the believers?’ God will judge between you all on the Day of Resurrection, and He will give the disbelievers no means of overcoming the believers. ### Arthur John Arberry Those who wait upon you and, if a victory comes to you from God, say, 'Were we not with you?' but if the unbelievers get a share, they say, 'Did we not gain the mastery over you, and did we not defend you from the believers?' God will judge between you on the Resurrection Day, and God will not grant the unbelievers any way over the believers. ### E. Henry Palmer Those who lie in wait for you, and if the victory be yours from God, say, 'Were we not with you?' and if the misbelievers have a chance, they say, 'Did we not get the mastery over you, and defend you from the believers?' But God shall judge between you on the resurrection day; for God will not give the misbelievers a way against believers. ### Hamid S. Aziz Those who lie in wait for you, and if the victory be your s from Allah, say, "Were we not with you?" and if the unbelievers have a chance of success, they say, "Did we not gain an advantage over you, and defend you from the believers?" But Allah shall judge between you on the Day of Resurrection; for Allah will not give the faithless a way against the faithful. ### Mahmoud Ghali (The ones) who await you; So, in case you gain a conquest from Allah, they say, "Were we not with you?" And in case the disbelievers get an assignment, (i. e. gain a success) they say, "Did we not have privilege over you, and did we not prevent (your defeat) by the believers?" Then Allah will judge between you on the Day of the Resurrection; and Allah will never grant (Literally: make) any way for the disbelievers over the believers. ### George Sale They who wait to observe what befalleth you, if victory be granted you from God, say, were we not with you? But if any advantage happen to the infidels, they say unto them, were we not superior to you, and have we not defended you against the believers? God shall judge between you on the day of resurrection; and God will not grant the unbelievers means to prevail over the faithful. ### Syed Vickar Ahamed (The hypocrites are) the ones who sit and watch about you: If you do gain a victory from Allah, they say: "Were we not with you?"— But if the disbelievers gain a success, they say (to them): "Did we not gain an advantage over you, and did we not guard you from the believers?" But Allah will judge between you on the Day Of Judgment. And never will Allah grant to the disbelievers a way (to win) over the believers. ### Amatul Rahman Omar Those (- hypocrites) who await (news) about you, then if you win a victory by the grace of Allâh they say, `Is it not that we were with you (and on your side)? But should there be for the disbelievers a share of it they will say (to them), `Did we not goad you to wage war; and did we not save you from the harm of the faithful?' Then Allâh will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection; and Allâh will never let the disbelievers have a way (to prevail) against the believers. ### Ali Quli Qarai —Those who lie in wait for you: if there is a victory for you from Allah, they say, ‘Were we not with you?’ But if the faithless get a share [of victory], they say, ‘Did we not prevail upon you and defend you against the faithful?’ Allah will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection, and Allah will never provide the faithless any way [to prevail] over the faithful. ### Ahmed Hulusi — Türkçe Kur'an Çözümü Onlar başınıza gelecekleri izliyorlar. . . Eğer size Allah'tan zafer ulaşırsa "Biz de sizinle değil miydik?" derler. Hakikati inkar eden güruha bir başarı nasip olursa da bu defa "Biz sizden üstün gelmedik mi, iman edenlere karşı sizi korumadık mı?" derler. Allah kıyamet sürecinde aranızda hükmeder. Allah iman edenler aleyhine fırsat vermeyecektir, hakikati inkar edenlere! ### Ali Bulaç — Kur'an-ı Kerim ve Türkçe Anlamı Onlar sizi gözetleyip duruyorlar. Size Allah'tan bir fetih (zafer ve ganimet) gelirse: "Sizinle birlikte değil miydik?" derler. Ama kafirlere bir pay düşerse: "Size üstünlük sağlamadık mı, mü'minlerden size (gelecek tehlikeleri) önlemedik mi?" derler. Allah, kıyamet günü aranızda hükmedecektir. Allah, kafirlere mü'minlerin aleyhinde kesinlikle yol vermez. ### Bayraktar Bayraklı — Yeni Bir Anlayışın Işığında Kur'an Meali Kafirler ve münafıklar, sadece başınıza gelecekleri görmeyi beklerler. Böylece eğer Allah'tan size bir zafer ihsan edilirse, "Sizin yanınızda değil miydik?" derler.Eğer savaşta kafirlerin bir payı olursa, "Biz size üstünlük sağlayıp sizi müminlerden korumadık mı?" derler. Eğer Allah tarafından size bir fetih (zafer) nasip olursa, "Biz sizinle beraber değil miydik?" derler. Size Tanrı'dan bir fetih (zafer ve ganimet) gelirse: "Sizinle birlikte değil miydik?" derler. Ama kafirlere bir pay düşerse: "Size üstünlük sağlamadık mı, inançlılardan size (gelecek tehlikeleri) önlemedik mi?" derler. Tanrı, kıyamet günü aranızda hükmedecektir. Tanrı, kafirlere inançlıların aleyhinde kesinlikle yol vermez. ### Hasan Basri Çantay — Kur'an-ı Hakim ve Meal-i Kerim Onlar hep sizi gözetleyib duranlardır. Onun için eğer Allahdan size bir feth (-u zafer) olursa: "Biz de sizinle beraber değil miydik?" derler. Şayet kafirlere bir (zafer) hisse (si) düşerse (o vakit da kafirlere dönerek): "Biz size (yardım ederek) galebenizi te'min etmedik mi? Size mü'minlerden (gelecek felaketi) önlemedik mi?" derler. Artık Allah, kıyaamet günü (onlarla sizin) aranızda hükmünü verecekdir. Allah, kafirlere mü'minlerin aleyhinde (galebeye) asla bir yol (ve imkan) bahşetmez. ### İbni Kesir Onlar, hep sizi gözetleyip durular. Allah'tan size bir zafer gelince; sizinle beraber değil miydik? derler. Kafirlere zaferden bir pay düştüğü zaman da onlara; size üstünlük sağlayarak mü'minlerden korumadık mı? derler. Kıyamet günü aranızda hüküm vercek Allah'tır. Allah, mü'minlerin aleyhinde asla fırsat vermeyecektir. ### Muhammed Esed — Kur'an Mesajı onlar ki, sadece başınıza gelecekleri görmeyi beklerler: Böylece, eğer Allahtan size bir zafer ihsan edilirse, "Sizin yanınızda değil miydik?" derler; hakikati inkar edenlerin şanslarının yaver gittiğini görünce de (onlara dönüp): "Şu müminlere karşı sizi savunarak sevginizi hak etmedik mi?" derler. Ama Allah, Kıyamet Günü aranızda hükmünü verecek; ve hakikati inkar edenlerin müminlere zarar vermelerine asla izin vermeyecektir. ### Şaban Piriş — Kur'an-ı Kerim Türkçe Anlamı Sizi gözetleyen (münafık / kafir) kimseler, eğer size Allah'tan bir zafer gelirse: -Sizinle beraber değil miydik? derler. Eğer kafirlere bir hisse düşerse: -Biz, size yardım ederek üstünlüğünüzü sağlamadık mı? Size gelecek felakete engel olmadık mı? derler. Allah, kıyamet günü aranızda hüküm verecektir. Allah, kafirlere müminlerin aleyhine bir yol vermeyecektir. ### Süleyman Ateş — Kur'an-ı Kerim ve Yüce Meali Onlar sizi gözetleyip dururlar. Eğer size Allah'tan bir fetih nasibolursa: "Biz de sizinle beraber değil miydik?" derler. Ve eğer savaşta kafirlerin bir payı olur(savaşı düşmanlarınız kazanır)sa, (bu kez onlara): "Biz size üstünlük sağlayıp, sizi mü'minlerden korumadık mı?" derler. Artık kıyamet gününde Allah, aranızda hükmedecek ve mü'minlere karşı kafirlere asla yol vermeyecektir. ### Yaşar Nuri Öztürk — Kur'an-ı Kerim Meali Sizi gözetleyip duruyorlar. Allah'tan size fetih nasip olursa, "sizinle birlikte değil miydik" diyecekler. Kafirlere bir nasip ulaşırsa şunu söyleyecekler: "Başarınıza destek vermedik mi, müminlere karşı size siper olmadık mı?" Artık kıyamet günü aranızda Allah hükmedecektir. Allah, müminler aleyhine kafirlere bir yol asla nasip etmez. ### Mustafa İslamoğlu — Hayat Kitabı Kur’an Onlar sizin başınıza gelecekleri gözetlerler: Eğer Allah'tan size bir zafer erişirse "Sizin yanınızda değil miydik?" derler; yok eğer kafirlerin şansı yaver giderse bu sefer de (onlara) derler ki: "Üzerinizde baskı kurup sizi teşvik ederek şu mü'minlerden kurtarmış olmadık mı?" Fakat Allah Kıyamet Günü aranızda hükmünü verecek ve inkarcıların mü'minlere zarar vermelerine asla izin vermeyecektir. ### Erhan Aktaş (Eski Baskı) — Kerim Kur'an Onlar, sürekli sizi gözetliyorlar, eğer Allah size bir zafer verirse: "Biz de sizinle beraber değil miydik?" derler. Eğer, gerçeği yalanlayan nankörler üstünlük sağlarlarsa: "Biz sizin üstün gelmenizi sağlamadık mı, mü'minlerden korumadık mı?" derler. Kuşkusuz, Allah, Kıyamet Günü aranızda hükmünü verecektir. Allah, mü'minlere karşı, gerçeği yalanlayan nankörlere asla bir yol vermeyecektir. ### Ali Rıza Safa — Kur'an-ı Kerim Gerçek Sizi gözleyenler, Allah tarafından size bir utku gelirse, "Sizinle birlikte değil miydik?" derler. Eğer nankörlük edenlerin bir payı olursa, "Size destek vererek inananlardan korumadık mı?" derler. Allah, Yeniden Yaratılış Günü'nde, aranızda yargı verecektir. Çünkü Allah, inananlara karşı, nankörlük edenlere asla yol vermez. ### Süleymaniye Vakfı (Eski Baskı) — Süleymaniye Vakfı Meali Onlar sizi gözetleyip dururlar. Allah size bir fetih nasip etse, "Sizinle beraber değil miydik?" derler. Ama eğer ayeti görmezlikten gelen o kimselerin (o kafirlerin) lehine bir durum olsa bu defa da onlara: "Sizi yönlendirip durmadık mı, siz müminlerden uzaklaştırmadık mı?" derler. Nasıl olsa Allah, (mezardan) kalkış günü aranızda hükmünü verecektir. Allah, müminler aleyhine kafirler için bir yol açacak değildir. ### Mehmet Okuyan — Kur’an Meal-Tefsir (Münafıklar) sizi gözetleyip dururlar. Size Allah'tan bir zafer (nasip) olursa, "Sizinle birlikte değil miydik?" derler. Kâfirlerin (zaferde) bir payları olursa (bu sefer de onlara), "Sizi yenip (öldürebileceğimiz hâlde öldürmeyip) müminlerden korumadık mı?" derler.[1] Allah kıyamet gününde aranızda hükmedecektir. Yüce Allah münafıkların müminleri sürekli takip ettiklerini, içinde bulundukları her olayı, attıkları her adımı izlediklerini, duruma göre bir tavır içerisine girdiklerini bildirmektedir. Yaşanan herhangi bir savaşta eğer müslümanlar zafer elde etmişlerse "biz de sizinle birlikteydik" dedikleri ifade edilmektedir. Yüce Allah münafıkların ikiyüzlülüklerini ortaya koymak üzere, inkârcılar herhangi bir savaşta üstünlük sağlarlarsa bu defa onlara dönerek kendilerine destek verdiklerini, güçlü olmalarını sağladıklarını ve onları müminlerin saldırılarından koruduklarını söylediklerini ifade etmektedir. ### Erhan Aktaş (10.
