Surah An-Nazi'at (Those who drag forth) — سورة النازعات - **Verse:** 25 / 46 · **Juz:** 30 · **Mushaf page:** 583 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-an-naziat/verse-25 ## Arabic فَاَخَذَهُ اللّٰهُ نَكَالَ الْاٰخِرَةِ وَالْاُو۫لٰىۜ ## Transcription Faakhathahu Allahu nakalaal-akhirati wal-oola ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley So Allah made an example of him seizing him with punishment in the next World and this world. ### Progressive Muslims So God seized him with retribution in the Hereafter, as well as in the first life. ### Shabbir Ahmed So Allah took him to task, and made him an example for the later generations and the ones who soon followed. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation So God seized him in exemplary punishment of the latter and the former. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation So God seized him for punishment in the Hereafter, and for the first life. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament Consequently, GOD committed him to the retribution in the Hereafter, as well as in the first life. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. ### Muhammad Asad And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. ### Marmaduke Pickthall So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab But Allah punished him in requital as a caution against further transgression and made of him an example in this world, and worse shall his punishment be in Day of Judgement and adjudication. ### Bijan Moeinian Therefore, God punished him in this world and he will be punished in Hereafter. ### Al-Hilali & Khan So Allâh, seized him with punishment for his last[1] and first[2] transgression.
