Surah An-Naml (The Ant) — سورة النمل - **Verse:** 56 / 93 · **Juz:** 20 · **Mushaf page:** 381 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-an-naml/verse-56 ## Arabic فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِه۪ٓ اِلَّٓا اَنْ قَالُٓوا اَخْرِجُٓوا اٰلَ لُوطٍ مِنْ قَرْيَتِكُمْۚ اِنَّهُمْ اُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ ## Transcription Fama kana jawabaqawmihi illa an qaloo akhrijoo ala lootinmin qaryatikum innahum onasun yatatahharoon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley the only response of his people was to say: ‘Drive the family of Lut out of your city! They are people who keep themselves pure!’ ### Progressive Muslims But the reply of his people was that they said: "Expel the family of Lot from your town, for they are a people who are being pure!" ### Shabbir Ahmed But the answer of his people was nothing but, "Expel Lot's followers from your town! For, they are people who show off to be pure.
