He stood there stationary – ### Progressive Muslims Free from any defect, he became stable. ### Shabbir Ahmed The Owner of Authority and Wisdom established him (the Prophet). ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation Possessed of firmness; and he stood, ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation Free from any defect, he became stable. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament Possessor of all authority. From His highest height. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira Lord of power and wisdom. So he acquired poise and balance, ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) One of soundness. And he rose to [his] true form ### Muhammad Asad [an angel] endowed with sur­passing power, who in time manifested himself in his true shape and nature, ### Marmaduke Pickthall One vigorous; and he grew clear to view ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary one endowed with immense wisdom.[1] He came forth and stood poised, _Footnotes_ - [1] Ibn Abbas and Qatadah take dhu mirra-tin of the text in the meaning of beautiful and grand. Mujahid, Hasan Basri, Ibn Zaid and Sufyan Thauri say that it means: strong and powerful. Saeed bin Musayyab has expressed the opinion that it means wise. In a Hadith the Prophet (peace be upon him) has used this word in the sense of healthy and sound. In Arabic usage this word is used in the meaning of sound in judgment, wise and learned also. Allah has chosen this word for Gabriel here because he possesses both intellectual and physical powers to the highest degree. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Who is endowed with power, wisdom and capacities of action, and in a majestic imposingly dignified appearance did he come forth into view. ### Bijan Moeinian : The possessor of absolute authority …. ### Al-Hilali & Khan One free from any defect in body and mind then he (Jibrîl - Gabriel in his real shape as created by Allah) rose and became stable. ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali Endued with Wisdom: for he appeared (in stately form); ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran and great perfection, who once rose to ˹his˺ true form[1] ### Taqi Usmani the one of vigour.
