Surah An-Nahl (The Bee) — سورة النحل - **Verse:** 83 / 128 · **Juz:** 14 · **Mushaf page:** 275 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-an-nahl/verse-83 ## Arabic يَعْرِفُونَ نِعْمَتَ اللّٰهِ ثُمَّ يُنْكِرُونَهَا وَاَكْثَرُهُمُ الْكَافِرُونَ۟ ## Transcription YaAArifoona niAAmata Allahi thummayunkiroonaha waaktharuhumu alkafiroon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley They acknowledge Allah’s blessing and then deny it. Most of them are kuffar. ### Progressive Muslims They recognize God's blessings, then they deny them. And most of them are rejecters. ### Shabbir Ahmed In fact, they recognize Allah's blessings, but deny them in practice. That is how most of the men and women are rated unbelievers. (16:71). ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation They recognise the favour of God, then they deny it; and most of them are false claimers of guidance. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation They recognize the blessings of God, then they deny them. And most of them are rejecters. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament They fully recognize GOD's blessings, then deny them; the majority of them are disbelievers. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira They do know the favours of God, and yet they deny them, for most of them are not grateful. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) They recognize the favor of Allah ; then they deny it. And most of them are disbelievers. ### Muhammad Asad They [who turn away from it] are fully aware of God's blessings, but none the less they refuse to acknowledge them [as such], since most of them are given to denying the truth. ### Marmaduke Pickthall They know the favour of Allah and then deny it. Most of them are ingrates. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary They are aware of the favours of Allah, and yet refuse to acknowledge them.[1] Most of them are determined not to accept the Truth. _Footnotes_ - [1] Here the denial of the blessings of Allah refers to practical denial by the disbelievers of Makkah. For they did not deny that all these blessings were from Allah but along with this they believed that their saints and gods also had contributed towards them. This is why they associated their intercessors in their gratitude to Allah for these blessings. Nay, they were even more grateful to them than to Allah. Allah regards this association as denial of His blessings, ingratitude and forgetfulness of His favors. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab These infidels are fully aware of Allah's grace abounding in them, but their wrongful actions and their unpious and unwise deeds bespeak clearly of the denial of Allah's merited or unmerited favours. And those of them who do not acknowledge Allah's goodwill constitute the majority. ### Bijan Moeinian They definitely recognize the Lord’s blessings; yet [out of pride] they deny the. Most of them thus cover the fact. ### Al-Hilali & Khan They recognise the Grace of Allâh, yet they deny it (by worshipping others besides Allâh) and most of them are disbelievers (deny the Prophethood of Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم). ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali They recognise the favours of Allah; then they deny them; and most of them are (creatures) ungrateful. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran They are aware of Allah’s favours, but still deny them. And most of them are ˹truly˺ ungrateful. ### Taqi Usmani They are aware of Allah’s favor, yet they deny it, and most of them are ungrateful. ### Abdul Haleem They know God’s blessings, but refuse to recognize them: most of them are ungrateful. ### Arthur John Arberry They recognize the blessing of God, then they deny it, and the most of them are the unthankful. ### E.
