Surah An-Nahl (The Bee) — سورة النحل - **Verse:** 79 / 128 · **Juz:** 14 · **Mushaf page:** 274 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-an-nahl/verse-79 ## Arabic اَلَمْ يَرَوْا اِلَى الطَّيْرِ مُسَخَّرَاتٍ ف۪ي جَوِّ السَّمَٓاءِۜ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ اِلَّا اللّٰهُۜ اِنَّ ف۪ي ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ ## Transcription Alam yaraw ila attayrimusakhkharatin fee jawwi assama-i mayumsikuhunna illa Allahu inna fee thalika laayatinliqawmin yu/minoon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Do they not see the birds suspended in mid-air up in the sky? Nothing holds them there except Allah. There are certainly Signs in that for people who have iman. ### Progressive Muslims Did they not look to the birds held in the atmosphere of the sky No one holds them up except God. In that are signs for a people who believe. ### Shabbir Ahmed Have they not considered the birds enabled to fly in mid-air, with none but Allah holding them aloft? (24:71). In this, behold, are messages for those who wish to attain conviction through reason. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation Have they not considered the birds made subject in the air of the sky? None holds them up except Allah. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe. ### Muhammad Asad Have, then, they [who deny the truth] never considered the birds, enabled [by God] to fly in mid-air, with none but God holding them aloft? In this, behold, there are messages indeed for people who will believe! ### Marmaduke Pickthall Have they not seen the birds obedient in mid-air? None holdeth them save Allah. Lo! herein, verily, are portents for a people who believe. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Have they never noticed the birds how they are held under control in the middle of the sky, where none holds them (from falling) except Allah? Surely there are signs in this for those who believe. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Do they -the infidels- not apply their sight and direct their intellectual eye to the birds moving through mid air at the floor of the vault of heaven! No one keeps them equipoise but Him Who designed their construction and made it fit to the object in view. Is this not indeed emblematic of Almightiness and Omnipotence to which bow those whose hearts have been touched with the divine hand! ### Bijan Moeinian Do the disbelievers ever look at the birds held in mid-air? Only the power of God holds them up there. For those who believe, this is an undeniable miracle. ### Al-Hilali & Khan Do they not see the birds held (flying) in the midst of the sky? None holds them but Allâh [none gave them the ability to fly but Allâh]. Verily, in this are clear Ayât (proofs and signs) for people who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh). ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali Do they not look at the birds, held poised in the midst of (the air and) the sky? Bunda da iman edecek bir kavm için nice ayetler (ibretler) vardır. ### İbni Kesir Göğün boşluğunda; Allah'ın buyruğuna boyun eğerek uçan kuşlara bakmıyorlar mı? Onları Allah'tan başka kimse tutmaz. İnanan bir kavim için muhakkak ki bunda ayetler vardır. ### Muhammed Esed — Kur'an Mesajı Peki, (hakkı inkar edenler), göğün ortasında, boşlukta, (Allah'ın yarattığı yasalara uyarak) uçup duran kuşlara bakıp düşünmüyorlar mı hiç? Elbette, Allah'tan başka kimse yok, onları yukarıda tutan.
