Surah An-Nahl (The Bee) — سورة النحل - **Verse:** 64 / 128 · **Juz:** 14 · **Mushaf page:** 272 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-an-nahl/verse-64 ## Arabic وَمَٓا اَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ اِلَّا لِتُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ الَّذِي اخْتَلَفُوا ف۪يهِۙ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ ## Transcription Wama anzalna AAalayka alkitabailla litubayyina lahumu allathee ikhtalafoo feehiwahudan warahmatan liqawmin yu/minoon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley We have only sent down the Book to you so that you can make clear to them the things about which they differ, and as a guidance and a mercy to people who have iman. ### Progressive Muslims And We did not send down the Scripture to you except that you may clarify to them that in which they disputed, and as a guidance and mercy to a people who believe. ### Shabbir Ahmed And upon you (O Prophet) We have revealed this Book so that you may clearly explain to people the reality of those things in which they differ (and thus help them become one community). And this Book is a Guidance and Mercy for people who will believe. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation And We sent down the Writ upon thee only that thou make plain to them that wherein they differ, and as guidance, and as a mercy for people who believe. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation And We have not sent down the Book to you except that you may clarify for them that in which they have disputed, and as a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament We have revealed this scripture to you, to point out for them what they dispute, and to provide guidance and mercy for people who believe. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira We have sent down this Book to you that you may explain to them what it is that they are differing about, and as guidance and a grace for those who believe. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) And We have not revealed to you the Book, [O Muúammad], except for you to make clear to them that wherein they have differed and as guidance and mercy for a people who believe. ### Muhammad Asad And upon thee [too] have We bestowed from on' high this divine writ for no other reason than that thou might make clear unto them all [questions of faith] on which they have come to hold divergent views, and [thus offer] guidance and grace unto people who will believe. ### Marmaduke Pickthall And We have revealed the Scripture unto thee only that thou mayst explain unto them that wherein they differ, and (as) a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary We have sent down the Book that you may explain to them the truth concerning what they are disputing and that the Book may serve as a guidance and mercy for those who believe in it.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] That is, this Book has afforded them an excellent opportunity to resolve their differences which have been caused by the superstitious creeds of their forefathers, and which have divided, them into warring factions. They can then unite on the permanent basis of the truth presented by the Quran, but those foolish people preferring their former condition even after the coming of this blessing, shall meet with disgrace and torment. On the other hand, only those, who believe in this Book, will find the right way and blessed with mercy and favors from Allah. 65. And Allah sends down from the sky water, then He revives therewith the earth after its death. Indeed, in this is a sure sign for a people who listen. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab And We send down the Book -the Quran- to you O Muhammad only to serve Allah's purpose and be of service in effecting Allah's object of illucidating to the various sects and to the people at large the strained points upon which the whole unreasoning turns and the points in the heat of dispute. 1t is the spirit of truth that guides into all truth as well as a mercy to those whose hearts are imprinted with the image of religious and spiritual virtues. ### Bijan Moeinian I have sent you this book for two reasons: To point out the reality of the issues that they (Christians and Jews) are disputing upon and to provide guidance which will open the doors of mercy to those (Muslims) who have chosen to believe. ### Al-Hilali & Khan And We have not sent down the Book (the Qur’an) to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم), except that you may explain clearly unto them those things in which they differ, and (as) a guidance and a mercy for a folk who believe. ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali And We sent down the Book to thee for the express purpose, that thou shouldst make clear to them those things in which they differ, and that it should be a guide and a mercy to those who believe. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran We have revealed to you the Book only to clarify for them what they differed about, and as a guide and mercy for those who believe. ### Taqi Usmani We have sent down the Book to you, only because you may explain to them what they differed about, and (so that it may be) guidance and mercy for a people who believe. ### Abdul Haleem We have sent down the Scripture to you only to make clear to them what they differ about, and as guidance and mercy to those who believe. ### Arthur John Arberry And We have not sent down upon thee the Book except that thou mayest make clear to them that whereon they were at variance, and as a guidance and as a mercy to a people who believe. ### E.
