Surah An-Nahl (The Bee) — سورة النحل - **Verse:** 31 / 128 · **Juz:** 14 · **Mushaf page:** 269 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-an-nahl/verse-31 ## Arabic جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ يَدْخُلُونَهَا تَجْر۪ي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهَارُ لَهُمْ ف۪يهَا مَا يَشَٓاؤُ۫نَۜ كَذٰلِكَ يَجْزِي اللّٰهُ الْمُتَّق۪ينَۙ ## Transcription Jannatu AAadnin yadkhuloonahatajree min tahtiha al-anharu lahum feehama yashaoona kathalika yajzee Allahualmuttaqeen ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Gardens of Eden which they enter, with rivers flowing under them, where they have whatever they desire. That is how Allah repays those who have taqwa: ### Progressive Muslims The gardens of Eden, which they will enter, with rivers flowing beneath, in it they will have what they wish. It is such that God rewards the righteous. ### Shabbir Ahmed The Gardens of Eden they will enter, underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will have whatever they wish. This is how Allah rewards the upright. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation Gardens of perpetual abode which they will enter, beneath which rivers flow, wherein they have whatever they will. Thus does God reward those of prudent fear: ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation Gardens of delight; which they will enter, with rivers flowing beneath them, in it they will have what they wish. It is such that God rewards the righteous. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament The gardens of Eden are reserved for them, wherein rivers flow. They have anything they wish therein. GOD thus rewards the righteous. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira They will enter perennial gardens with streams of water and all they wish. Thus will the pious and devout be rewarded. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) Gardens of perpetual residence, which they will enter, beneath which rivers flow. They will have therein whatever they wish. Thus does Allah reward the righteous - ### Muhammad Asad Gardens of perpetual bliss will they enter - [gardens] through which running waters flow - having therein all that they might desire. Thus will God reward those who are conscious of Him- ### Marmaduke Pickthall Gardens of Eden which they enter, underneath which rivers flow, wherein they have what they will. Thus Allah repayeth those who ward off (evil), ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary everlasting gardens that they shall enter; the gardens beneath which rivers shall flow, and where they shall have whatever they desire! Thus does Allah reward the God-fearing,[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] This is the best blessing of Paradise. The dweller will get there whatever he will desire and wish and there will be nothing at all to offend him. This is the blessing that has never been attained even by the richest and the most powerful people in this world. On the contrary, every dweller of Paradise will enjoy this blessing to his fill because he will always have everything to his desire and liking, and will have each and every wish and desire fulfilled. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab It is the Gardens of Eden wherein they enter into the joy of Allah, their Creator, and experience the pleasure afforded by the rivers running directly beneath. Therein they will have whatever object of desire from which pleasure or satisfaction is expected and any wish they express in words or in thought will be instantly fulfilled, for thus does Allah reward those who entertain the profound reverence dutiful to Him. ### Bijan Moeinian God rewards the righteous people by lodging them in the gardens of Eden under which the rivers flow and let all their wishes come true. ### Al-Hilali & Khan ‘Adn (Eden) Paradise (Gardens of Eternity) which they will enter, under which rivers flow, they will have therein all that they wish. Thus Allâh rewards the Muttaqûn (the pious - See V.2:2). ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali Gardens of Eternity which they will enter: beneath them flow (pleasant) rivers: they will have therein all that they wish: thus doth Allah reward the righteous,- ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran the Gardens of Eternity which they will enter, under which rivers flow. For them there is what they desire. That is how Allah rewards the God-fearing - ### Abdul Haleem They will enter perpetual Gardens graced with flowing streams. There they will have everything they wish. This is the way God rewards the righteous, ### Arthur John Arberry Gardens of Eden they shall enter, underneath which rivers flow, wherein they shall have all they will. So God recompenses the godfearing, ### E. Thus Allah recompenses the pious. ### George Sale Namely, gardens of eternal abode, into which they shall enter; rivers shall flow beneath the same; therein shall they enjoy whatever they wish. Thus will God recompense the pious. ### Syed Vickar Ahamed Gardens of Eternity that they will enter: Beneath them flow (pleasant) rivers: They will have all that they wish in there: Thus Allah rewards the righteous— ### Amatul Rahman Omar (These abodes) they shall enter (are) Gardens of Eternity, served with running streams (to keep them green and flourishing). They shall have therein all that they desire.
