Surah Ali 'Imran (The Family of Imraan) — سورة آل عمران - **Verse:** 91 / 200 · **Juz:** 3 · **Mushaf page:** 60 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-ali-imran/verse-91 ## Arabic اِنَّ الَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُوا وَمَاتُوا وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ فَلَنْ يُقْبَلَ مِنْ اَحَدِهِمْ مِلْءُ الْاَرْضِ ذَهَباً وَلَوِ افْتَدٰى بِه۪ۜ اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَل۪يمٌ وَمَا لَهُمْ مِنْ نَاصِر۪ينَ۟ ## Transcription Inna allatheena kafaroo wamatoowahum kuffarun falan yuqbala min ahadihim miloal-ardi thahaban walawi iftada bihi ola-ikalahum AAathabun aleemun wama lahum min nasireen ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley As for those who are kafir and die kuffar, the whole earth filled with gold would not be accepted from any of them if they were to offer it as a ransom. They will have a painful punishment. They will have no helpers. ### Progressive Muslims Those who have rejected and died while they are rejecters, if the Earth full of gold were to be ransomed with it would not be accepted from any of them. For these there will be a painful retribution and they will have no supporters. ### Shabbir Ahmed As for those who reject the Truth and die in that state, not the entire gold of the earth shall be accepted from them, if they could offer such ransom. They have incurred a painful doom upon themselves and there shall be no helpers for them. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation Those who ignore warning and die as atheists: there would not be accepted from one of them the earth full of gold were he to seek to ransom himself thereby; those have a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation Those who have rejected and died while they were rejecters, if the earth full of gold were to be ransomed with it would not be accepted from any of them. They have incurred painful retribution; they will have no helpers. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira From those who deny and die disbelieving will never be accepted an earthful of gold if proferred by them as ransom. For them is grievous punishment, and none will help them. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers - never would the [whole] capacity of the earth in gold be accepted from one of them if he would [seek to] ransom himself with it. For those there will be a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers. ### Muhammad Asad Verily, as for those who are bent on denying the truth and die as deniers of the truth - not all the gold on earth could ever be their ransom. It is they for whom grievous suffering is in store; and they shall have none to succour them. ### Marmaduke Pickthall Lo! those who disbelieve, and die in disbelief, the (whole) earth full of gold would not be accepted from such an one if it were offered as a ransom (for his soul). Theirs will be a painful doom and they will have no helpers. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Truly those who disbelieved and died as unbelievers, not even an earth full of gold will be accepted from them as ransom. For such people there is painful chastisement; and none shall come to their help. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Those who deny Allah and death claims them clothed with the ugly vestments of disbelief, they shall have committed an unforgivable sin. The offer of as much gold as the earth can treasure shall not be accepted from any of them in expiation for his guilt. Such persons must expect endless suffering and shall find no one to afford them help. ### Bijan Moeinian As to those who return back to disbelief and die in the state of disbelief, they have earned an awful punishment. Even if they offer an earth full of gold, their offering will not be accepted and they will find themselves without any helper. ### Al-Hilali & Khan Verily, those who disbelieved, and died while they were disbelievers, the (whole) earth full of gold will not be accepted from anyone of them even if they offered it as a ransom[1]. For them is a painful torment and they will have no helpers. ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali As to those who reject Faith, and die rejecting,- never would be accepted from any such as much gold as the earth contains, though they should offer it for ransom. For such is (in store) a penalty grievous, and they will find no helpers. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran Indeed, if each of those who disbelieve then die as disbelievers were to offer a ransom of enough gold to fill the whole world, it would never be accepted from them. It is they who will suffer a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers. ### Taqi Usmani Those who disbelieve and die as disbelievers, even an Earth-full of gold shall never be accepted from any of them, even if one were to offer it as ransom. They are the ones for whom there is a painful punishment, and for them there are no helpers. ### Abdul Haleem those who disbelieve and die disbelievers will not be saved even if they offer enough gold to fill the entire earth. Those will have a painful torment, and in no way will they have any vindicators. ### George Sale Verily they who believe not, and die in their unbelief, the world full of gold shall in no wise be accepted from any of them, even though he should give it for his ransom; they shall suffer a grievous punishment, and they shall have none to help them. ### Syed Vickar Ahamed Verily, about those who reject Faith, and die rejecting— Never would be accepted from any such (persons) all the gold that the earth contains, even though they should offer it (only) to ransom themselves. There awaits them a woeful punishment, they shall have no helpers (either). ### Ali Quli Qarai Indeed those who turn faithless, and die while they are faithless, a world of gold will not be accepted from any of them should he offer it for ransom. İşte onlar! Pek acıklı bir azab onların (hakkı) dır.
