Surah Ali 'Imran (The Family of Imraan) — سورة آل عمران - **Verse:** 85 / 200 · **Juz:** 3 · **Mushaf page:** 60 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-ali-imran/verse-85 ## Arabic وَمَنْ يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الْاِسْلَامِ د۪يناً فَلَنْ يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُۚ وَهُوَ فِي الْاٰخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِر۪ينَ ## Transcription Waman yabtaghi ghayra al-islamideenan falan yuqbala minhu wahuwa fee al-akhirati minaalkhasireen ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley If anyone desires anything other than Islam as a deen, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Next World he will be among the losers. ### Progressive Muslims And whoever follows other than surrender as a system, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he is of the losers. ### Shabbir Ahmed Whoever seeks as religion other than Islam, it will not be accepted from him, and he will be a loser in the Hereafter. (This is because the religion, DEEN of the entire Universe is Islam i.e. submission to the will of God). ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation And whoso seeks a doctrine other than submission, it will not be accepted from him; and he in the Hereafter will be among the losers. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation And whoever follows other than submission as a system, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he is of the losers. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament Anyone who accepts other than Submission as his religion, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter, he will be with the losers. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira And whoever seeks a way other than submission to God, it will not be accepted from him, and he will be a loser in the world to come. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers. ### Muhammad Asad For, if one goes in search of a religion other than self-surrender unto God, it will never be accepted from him, and in the life to come he shall be among the lost. ### Marmaduke Pickthall And whoso seeketh as religion other than the Surrender (to Allah) it will not be accepted from him, and he will be a loser in the Hereafter. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary And whoever seeks a way other than this way a submission (Islam), will find that it will not be accepted from him and in the Life to come he will be among the losers. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab He who adopts a system of faith and worship other than Islam simply bends on a system of faith and worships which does not have the standing upon the vantage ground of truth.
