Surah Ali 'Imran (The Family of Imraan) — سورة آل عمران - **Verse:** 84 / 200 · **Juz:** 3 · **Mushaf page:** 60 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-ali-imran/verse-84 ## Arabic قُلْ اٰمَنَّا بِاللّٰهِ وَمَٓا اُنْزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَمَٓا اُنْزِلَ عَلٰٓى اِبْرٰه۪يمَ وَاِسْمٰع۪يلَ وَاِسْحٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالْاَسْبَاطِ وَمَٓا اُو۫تِيَ مُوسٰى وَع۪يسٰى وَالنَّبِيُّونَ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْۖ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ اَحَدٍ مِنْهُمْۘ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ ## Transcription Qul amanna billahiwama onzila AAalayna wama onzila AAalaibraheema wa-ismaAAeela wa-ishaqawayaAAqooba wal-asbati wama ootiya moosawaAAeesa wannabiyyoona min rabbihim lanufarriqu bayna ahadin minhum wanahnu lahumuslimoon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Say, ‘We have iman in Allah and what has been sent down to us and what was sent down to Ibrahim, Isma‘il and Ishaq and Ya‘qub and the Tribes, and what Musa and ‘Isa and all the Prophets were given by their Lord. We do not differentiate between any of them. We are Muslims submitted to Him.’ ### Progressive Muslims Say: "We believe in God and what was sent down to us and what was sent down to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Patriarchs, and what was given to Moses and Jesus and the prophets from their Lord. We do not make any distinction between them, and to Him we surrender." ### Shabbir Ahmed Say, "We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us and to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and the Prophets of the Israelite Tribes, and that which was given to Moses, Jesus and other Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction among any of them (See (2:253), (17:55)). We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [submitting] to Him." ### Muhammad Asad Say: "We believe in God, and in that which has been bestowed from on high upon us, and that which has been bestowed upon Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and their descendants, and that which has been vouchsafed by their Sustainer unto Moses and Jesus and all the [other] prophets: we make no distinction between any of them. And unto Him do we surrender ourselves." ### Marmaduke Pickthall Say (O Muhammad): We believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto us and that which was revealed unto Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the tribes, and that which was vouchsafed unto Moses and Jesus and the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and unto Him we have surrendered. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Say: 'We believe in Allah and what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and to Issac and Jacob and his descendents, and the teachings which Allah gave to Moses and Jesus and to other Prophets. We make no distinction between any of them[1] and to Him do we submit. _Footnotes_ - [1] They are told that it is not the habit of Muslims either to believe in Prophets and disbelieve in others or to affirm to the truth of some call others false. Muslims are free from narrow prejudices and chauvinistic loyalties. The true attitude of Muslims is to bear witness to truth of every Messenger of God, irrespective of where and when he appears. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab O Muhammad, declare in explicit terms: We Muslims believe in Allah with hearts impressed with the image of religious and spiritual virtues. We believe in all that has been imparted to us in the Quran and in all that was imparted to Ibrahim and Isma’il, to Ishaq (Isaac) and Ya’qub (Jacob) and to the tribes of his twelve sons and in what was imparted to Mussa and to ‘Isa. We believe in all that was imparted to all the Prophets from Allah, their Creator. We do not discriminate one from another and we conform our will to His blessed will. He is the heart of our purpose. ### Bijan Moeinian Say: "We (Muslims) believe in God and whatever He has revealed to us as well as whatever He has revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Patriarchs, Moses, Jesus and all other Prophets. We do not prefer none of them over the others [and respect them equally]; and we submit ourselves to God [in Arabic it will be expressed: We are Muslims.]" ### Al-Hilali & Khan Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "We believe in Allâh and in what has been sent down to us, and what was sent down to Ibrâhîm (Abraham), Ismâ‘îl (Ishmael), Ishâq (Isaac), Ya‘qûb (Jacob) and Al-Asbât [the offspring of the twelve sons of Ya‘qûb (Jacob)] and what was given to Mûsâ (Moses), ‘Îsâ (Jesus) and the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between one another among them and to Him (Allâh) we have submitted (in Islâm)." ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali Say: "We believe in Allah, and in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and in (the Books) given to Moses, Jesus, and the prophets, from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another among them, and to Allah do we bow our will (in Islam)." ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ "We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and his descendants; and what was given to Moses, Jesus, and other prophets from their Lord—we make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we ˹fully˺ submit." ### Taqi Usmani Say, "We believe in Allah and in what has been revealed to us and in what was revealed to Ibrāhīm, Ismā‘īl, IsHāq , Ya‘qūb and the descendants, and in what has been given to Mūsā, ‘Īsā and the prophets, from their Lord: We do not differentiate between any of them; and to Him we submit ourselves." ### Abdul Haleem Say [Muhammad], ‘We [Muslims] believe in God and in what has been sent down to us and to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes.
