Those to whom men said: “The people have gathered against you, so be afraid of them,” but it increased them in faith, and they said: “Sufficient for us is God” — and excellent is the disposer of affairs —

those to whom people said, ‘The people have gathered against you, so fear them. ’ But that merely increased their iman and they said, ‘Allah is enough for us and the Best of Guardians.’
The ones who the people said to them: "The people have gathered against you, so be fearful of them," but it only increased their faith and they said: "God is enough for us, and He is the best to put our trust in. "
When people said to them, "A great army has assembled against you, so fear them. " But the threat only increased them in their conviction. They said, "Allah suffices for us and He is the best Guardian."

those who have been warned by other people, "Behold, a host has gathered against you; so beware of them!" - whereupon this only increased their faith, so that they answered, "God is enough for us; and how excellent a guardian is He!"
Those unto whom men said: Lo! the people have gathered against you, therefor fear them. (The threat of danger) but increased the faith of them and they cried: Allah is Sufficient for us! Most Excellent is He in Whom we trust!
When people said to them: 'Behold, a host has gathered around you and you should fear them', it only increased their faith and they answered: 'Allah is Sufficient for us; and what an excellent Guardian He is!'
The news simply strengthened them mentally and morally and confirmed their faith, when they were told by the people that their enemies had mustered up a great number of troops to fight against them so, they should be fearful of them. It was those who did not fear fate; they feared naught but Allah, and said; "Allah is the answer to our purpose, our hopes and our needs, and how excellent He is for the Tutelary Guardian"
When they were told that: "A mighty army is gathering against you, " they replied: “God is enough for us as protector and we put our trust in His Most Excellency”; thus, they attained a higher level of the belief.
Those (i.e. believers) unto whom the people (hypocrites) said, "Verily, the people (pagans) have gathered against you (a great army), therefore, fear them." But it (only) increased them in Faith, and they said: "Allâh (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)."
Men said to them: "A great army is gathering against you": And frightened them: But it (only) increased their Faith: They said: "For us Allah sufficeth, and He is the best disposer of affairs."
Those who were warned, "Your enemies have mobilized their forces against you, so fear them," the warning only made them grow stronger in faith and they replied, “Allah ˹alone˺ is sufficient ˹as an aid˺ for us and ˹He˺ is the best Protector.”
- (that is) those to whom people said, "The people have gathered against you; so, fear them." It increased them in Faith and they said, “Allah is fully sufficient for us, and the best One in whom to trust.”
Those whose faith only increased when people said, ‘Fear your enemy: they have amassed a great army against you,’ and who replied, ‘God is enough for us: He is the best protector,’

173. The ones to whom the multitude (Literally: mankind) said, "Surely the multitude have already gathered against you, so be apprehensive of them." Yet, it increased them in belief, and they said, " Allah is The Reckoner enough for us, and how excellent is The Ever-Trusted Trustee!"
unto whom certain men said, verily the men of Mecca have already gathered forces against you, be ye therefore afraid of them: But this increased their faith, and they said, God is our support, and the most excellent patron.
Men told them: "A great army is gathering against you:" And frightened them: But it (only) increased their Faith: And they said: "For us Allah is enough, and He is the Best One to take care of affairs (Wakil). "
Those to whom (at the time of the expedition of Badr al-Sughrâ) people said, `People have assembled against you, so fear them. ' But this (threat of danger) increased their faith and they said, `Allâh is Sufficient for us, and He is an excellent Disposer of affairs'.
Those to whom the people said, ‘All the people have gathered against you; so fear them. ’ That only increased them in faith, and they said, ‘Allah is sufficient for us, and He is an excellent trustee.’
