Hidayetin artması ifadesi, onun güçlenmesi, pekiştirilmesi ve sarsılmaz şekilde mukavemetli kılınması anlamlarına gelmektedir. Hidayet artacağına göre, bir çeşit hidayet demek olan iman da elbette artabilir. Bakara 2:2'de Kur'an'ın [muttakî]ler için hidayet kaynağı olması bir anlamda hidayetin arttığını gösterir. Zaten [muttakî] olan bir insanın Kur'an'ın hidayetinden istifade etmesi demek, [takvâ] üzere kalması ve [takvâ] ilkelerinin artışını hayatında uygulaması demektir.
