Surah Ali 'Imran (The Family of Imraan) — سورة آل عمران - **Verse:** 170 / 200 · **Juz:** 4 · **Mushaf page:** 71 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-ali-imran/verse-170 ## Arabic فَرِح۪ينَ بِمَٓا اٰتٰيهُمُ اللّٰهُ مِنْ فَضْلِه۪ۙ وَيَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِالَّذ۪ينَ لَمْ يَلْحَقُوا بِهِمْ مِنْ خَلْفِهِمْۙ اَلَّا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَۢ ## Transcription Fariheena bima atahumuAllahu min fadlihi wayastabshiroona billatheenalam yalhaqoo bihim min khalfihim alla khawfunAAalayhim wala hum yahzanoon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley delighting in the favour Allah has bestowed on them, rejoicing over those they left behind who have not yet joined them, feeling no fear and knowing no sorrow, ### Progressive Muslims Happy with what God has granted them from His favour, and they rejoice for those who have yet to follow after them. There is no fear over them nor do they grieve. ### Shabbir Ahmed They are jubilant in the bounty that Allah has given them. And rejoicing for those believers whom they have left behind and who have not joined them yet in Bliss. They shall have nothing to fear or to regret. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation Exulting in what God has bestowed upon them of His bounty; and rejoicing in those behind them who are yet to join them, that no fear will be upon them, nor will they grieve; ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation Happy with what God has granted them from His grace, and they rejoice in those who have yet to follow after them. And they rejoice in the glad tiding given to those [of their brethren] who have been left behind and have not yet joined them, that no fear need they have, and neither shall they grieve: ### Marmaduke Pickthall Jubilant (are they) because of that which Allah hath bestowed upon them of His bounty, rejoicing for the sake of those who have not joined them but are left behind: That there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary rejoicing in what Allah has bestowed upon them out of His bounty,[1] jubilant that neither fear nor grief shall come upon the believers left behind in the world who have not yet joined them. _Footnotes_ - [1] There is a Tradition from the Prophet that he who leaves the world after having lived righteously is greeted with a life so felicitous that he never wishes to return to the world. The only exception to this are martyrs who wish to be sent back to the world so that they may once again attain martyrdom and thereby enjoy that unique joy, bliss and ecstasy which one experiences at the time of laying down one's life for God. Ill, 103, 126, 153, 173, 251, 276, 278, 284, 289; Bukhari, 'Tafsir al-Qur'an', 6 and 21: Muslim, 'Al-Imarah', 108, 109. 121 - Ed.) ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Rejoicing beyond a common joy at Allah’s bounty abounding in them and joyful for those who are yet to join them for they shall have no grounds for alarm nor shall fear or dread fall upon them nor shall they come to grief. ### Bijan Moeinian They are enjoying the audience of their Lord and they would like to inform their comrades [who did not achieve the martyrdom in the cause of God] that they should fear nothing and that they should never let depression overcome them. ### Al-Hilali & Khan They rejoice in what Allâh has bestowed upon them of His Bounty and rejoice for the sake of those who have not yet joined them, but are left behind (not yet martyred) that on them no fear shall come, nor shall they grieve. ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali They rejoice in the bounty provided by Allah: And with regard to those left behind, who have not yet joined them (in their bliss), the (Martyrs) glory in the fact that on them is no fear, nor have they (cause to) grieve. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran rejoicing in Allah’s bounties and being delighted for those yet to join them. Onlara arkalarından henüz ulaşmayanlara müjdelemeyi isterler ki onlara hiç bir korku yoktur, mahzun da olacak değillerdir. ### Hasan Basri Çantay — Kur'an-ı Hakim ve Meal-i Kerim (169-170) Allah yolunda öldürülenleri sakın ölüler sanma. Bil'akis onlar Rableri kafında diridirler. (Öyle ki Allanın) lutf-ü inayetinden, kendilerine verdiği (şehidlik mertebesi) ile hepsi de şad olarak (cennet ni'metleriyle) rızıklanırlar.. Onlar mahzun da olacak değillerdir" diye müjde vermek isterler. ### İbni Kesir Allah'ın keremiyle kendilerine verdiklerinden sevinerek arkalarından henüz kendilerine katılmayanlara; kendilerine korku olmadığını ve üzülmeyeceklerini, müjdelemek isterler. ### Muhammed Esed — Kur'an Mesajı Allah'ın lütfuyla kendilerine bağışladığı (şehitlikten) övünç duyarlar. Ve arkada kalıp henüz kendilerine katılmamış olan (kardeş)lerine, bir korku ve üzüntü duymayacakları müjdesinde bulunmaktan zevk alırlar: ### Şaban Piriş — Kur'an-ı Kerim Türkçe Anlamı Allah'ın kendilerine fazlından verdiği şeylere sevinenler, arkalarından (kendilerine) yetişemeyenlere, kendilerine bir korku olmadığını ve mahzun da olmayacaklarını müjdelemek isterler. ### Süleyman Ateş — Kur'an-ı Kerim ve Yüce Meali Allah'ın, keremiyle kendilerine verdiklerinden sevinçli olarak, arkalarından henüz kendilerine yetişemeyenlere de korku olmadığına, onların da üzüntüye uğramayacaklarına sevinirler. ### Yaşar Nuri Öztürk — Kur'an-ı Kerim Meali Allah'ın, lütfundan kendilerine verdiğiyle sevinçlidirler.
