Surah Ali 'Imran (The Family of Imraan) — سورة آل عمران - **Verse:** 116 / 200 · **Juz:** 4 · **Mushaf page:** 64 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-ali-imran/verse-116 ## Arabic اِنَّ الَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُوا لَنْ تُغْنِيَ عَنْهُمْ اَمْوَالُهُمْ وَلَٓا اَوْلَادُهُمْ مِنَ اللّٰهِ شَيْـٔاًۜ وَاُو۬لٰٓئِكَ اَصْحَابُ النَّارِۚ هُمْ ف۪يهَا خَالِدُونَ ## Transcription Inna allatheena kafaroo lan tughniyaAAanhum amwaluhum wala awladuhum mina Allahishay-an waola-ika as-habu annarihum feeha khalidoon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley As for those who are kafir, their wealth and children will not help them against Allah in any way. They are the Companions of the Fire. remaining in it timelessly, for ever. ### Progressive Muslims As for those who rejected, neither their money nor their children will avail them anything from God. These are the people of the Fire, in it they abide eternally. ### Shabbir Ahmed The wealth and children of the deniers will not avail them against Allah. They will end up in Hellfire to abide therein. (The punishment to humans is built in, in their actions. Allah is not like human tyrants who punish out of anger or displeasure (3:182), (4:111), (20:15), (7:147), (27:90)). ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation Those who ignore warning: neither their wealth nor their children will avail them anything against God. They will abide therein. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary As for those who denied the Truth, neither their possessions nor their children will avail them against Allah. They are the people of the Fire, and therein they shall abide. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Indeed those who denied Allah were born to be losers; neither their wealth nor their progeny shall profit them or afford them help nor be beneficially effective against what Allah has for them in store. These are the inmates of hell to endure for that vast forever. ### Bijan Moeinian Those who choose the disbelief, on the contrary, will not find their wealth and children of any help in the court of God. They will end up in the Hellfire and have to bear it for the eternity. ### Al-Hilali & Khan Surely, those who reject Faith (disbelieve in Allâh and in Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) as being Allâh’s Messenger and in all that which he صلى الله عليه وسلم has brought from Allâh), neither their properties, nor their offspring will avail them aught against Allâh. They are the dwellers of the Fire, therein they will abide.[1] (Tafsir At-Tabarî). ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali Those who reject Faith,- neither their possessions nor their (numerous) progeny will avail them aught against Allah: They will be companions of the Fire,-dwelling therein (for ever). ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran Indeed, neither the wealth nor children of the disbelievers will be of any benefit to them against Allah.
