Is it then this narration you disdain
Do you nonetheless regard this discourse with scorn
Are you disregarding this narration
Now, is it this Hadith that you would hold in low esteem? (To uphold some other hadith).
Is it then this narration you disdain
Are you disregarding this narrative?
Are you disregarding this hadith?
Are you disregarding this narration?
Then why do you dissimulate this Revelation?
Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent
Would you, now, look down with disdain on a tiding like this,
Is it this Statement that ye scorn,
Do you, then, take this discourse in light esteem,*
Is it not a pity that you people declare such a Revelation to be untrue!
Do you regard it, then, as unworthy of serious attention?
Is it such a talk (this Qur’ân) that you (disbelievers) deny?
Is it such a Message that ye would hold in light esteem?
How can you then take this message lightly,
Is it this discourse that you take lightly,
How can you scorn this statement?
What, do you hold this discourse in disdain,
What! this new discourse will ye despise?
Do you then hold this announcement in contempt?
Is it, then, that you (i. e., the disbelievers) are dissimulating with this Discourse?
Will ye, therefore, despise this new revelation?
Is it that such a Message that you would hold in light regard?
Is it this (Divine) discourse that you are the deniers of?
What! Do you take lightly this discourse?
