Surah Al-Muzzammil (The Enshrouded One) — سورة المزمل - **Verse:** 11 / 20 · **Juz:** 29 · **Mushaf page:** 573 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-muzzammil/verse-11 ## Arabic وَذَرْن۪ي وَالْمُكَذِّب۪ينَ اُو۬لِي النَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَل۪يلاً ## Transcription Watharnee walmukaththibeenaolee annaAAmati wamahhilhum qaleela ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Leave the deniers, who live a life of ease, to Me, alone, and tolerate them a little longer. ### Progressive Muslims And leave Me to deal with the deniers who have been given the good things, and give them time for a while. ### Shabbir Ahmed And leave the deniers of the Truth unto Me - these 'masters of luxury'. And you give them some time. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation And leave thou Me with the deniers, the possessors of prosperity, and grant thou them respite a little. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation And leave Me to deal with the deniers who have been given the good things, and give them time for a while. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament And let Me deal with the rejectors, who have been generously blessed; just give them a little time. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira Leave those to Me who deny, the lovers of ease and comfort; and bear with them for a while. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) And leave Me with [the matter of] the deniers, those of ease [in life], and allow them respite a little. ### Muhammad Asad And leave Me alone [to deal] with those who give the lie to the truth - those who enjoy the blessings of life [without any thought of God] - and bear thou with them for a little while: ### Marmaduke Pickthall Leave Me to deal with the deniers, lords of ease and comfort (in this life); and do thou respite them awhile. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Leave it to Me to deal with the affluent ones who give the lie[1] (to the Truth), and bear with them for a while. _Footnotes_ - [1] These words clearly contain the sense that the people, who were actually denying the Prophet (peace be upon him) in Makkah and were inciting the common people to oppose and resist him by stirring up prejudices and by deceit and fraud, were the well-to-do, prosperous and affluent people, for it was their interests, which were being hit by the reforming message of Islam. The Quran tells us that this was not peculiar only to the Prophet’s case but in every age this very class of the people have been the main obstacle to every movement of reform. For example, see (Surah Al-Aaraf, Ayats 60, 66,75, 88);Surah Al-Mominoon, Ayat 33);(Surah Saba, Ayats 34, 35); (Surah Az-Zukhruf, Ayat 23). ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab and leave to Me the wealthy who deny Allah and lack the spiritual apprehension of divine truth and bear with them for a while and put them in respite. ### Bijan Moeinian And let me deal with those who reject my words (Qur’an).
