Surah Al-Mulk (The Sovereignty) — سورة الملك - **Verse:** 15 / 30 · **Juz:** 29 · **Mushaf page:** 562 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-mulk/verse-15 ## Arabic هُوَ الَّذ۪ي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْاَرْضَ ذَلُولاً فَامْشُوا ف۪ي مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُوا مِنْ رِزْقِه۪ۜ وَاِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ ## Transcription Huwa allathee jaAAala lakumu al-ardathaloolan famshoo fee manakibihawakuloo min rizqihi wa-ilayhi annushoor ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley It is He who made the earth submissive to you, so walk its broad trails and eat what it provides. The Resurrection is to Him. ### Progressive Muslims He is the One who made the Earth subservient for you. So roam its paths, and eat from His provisions; and to Him is the final summoning. ### Shabbir Ahmed He it is Who has made the earth humble at your service. So move through its tracts and enjoy His provisions. Bear in mind that the revival to New Life will again be in His Dominion. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation He it is that made the earth responsive for you; so walk in the tracts thereof, and eat of His provision; and to Him is the Resurrection. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation He is the One who made the earth subservient for you. And unto Him will be the resurrection (of the dead). ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary He it is Who made the earth subservient to you. So traverse in its tracks and partake of the sustenance[1] He has provided. To Him will you be resurrected.[2] _Footnotes_ - [1] That is, this earth has not become subdued for you of its own accord, and the provisions also that you are eating have not become available here by themselves, but Allah has so arranged it by His wisdom and power that your life became possible here and this splendid globe became so peaceful that you are moving about on it with full peace of mind, and it has become such a vast table spread with food that it contains endless and limitless provisions for your sustenance. If you are not lost in heedlessness and look about yourself intelligently, you will find how much wisdom underlies in the making of this earth habitable for you and arranging in it immeasurable stores of provisions for you. And support your life from the sustenance He provided, then back to Him is the return on the Day of Resurrection. ### Bijan Moeinian He is the One Who has made the earth hospitable for you. Roam its corners, find your provision and know that one they you will return to meet your Lord. ### Al-Hilali & Khan He it is Who has made the earth subservient to you (i.e. easy for you to walk, to live and to do agriculture on it); so walk in the path thereof and eat of His provision. And to Him will be the Resurrection. ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali It is He Who has made the earth manageable for you, so traverse ye through its tracts and enjoy of the Sustenance which He furnishes: but unto Him is the Resurrection. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran He is the One Who smoothed out the earth for you, so move about in its regions and eat from His provisions.
