Surah Al-Mujadila (The Pleading Woman) — سورة المجادلة - **Verse:** 18 / 22 · **Juz:** 28 · **Mushaf page:** 543 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-mujadila/verse-18 ## Arabic يَوْمَ يَبْعَثُهُمُ اللّٰهُ جَم۪يعاً فَيَحْلِفُونَ لَهُ كَمَا يَحْلِفُونَ لَكُمْ وَيَحْسَبُونَ اَنَّهُمْ عَلٰى شَيْءٍۜ اَلَٓا اِنَّهُمْ هُمُ الْكَاذِبُونَ ## Transcription Yawma yabAAathuhumu Allahu jameeAAanfayahlifoona lahu kama yahlifoona lakum wayahsaboonaannahum AAala shay-in ala innahum humu alkathiboon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley On the Day Allah raises up all of them them together they will swear to Him just as they have sworn to you and imagine they have something to stand upon. No indeed! It is they who are the liars. ### Progressive Muslims The Day will come when God resurrects them all. Then they will swear to Him, just as they swear to you, thinking that they actually are right! Indeed, they are the liars. ### Shabbir Ahmed On the Day, when Allah will raise them together, all of them, they will then swear unto Him as they now swear unto you - deeming themselves to be accepted as reliable. Nay! Verily, it is they, they who are the liars. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation The day God raises them all together, they will swear to Him as they swear to you and think that they stand upon something. Oh, verily, it is they, they who are the [greatest] liars! ### Marmaduke Pickthall On the day when Allah will raise them all together, then will they swear unto Him as they (now) swear unto you, and they will fancy that they have some standing. Lo! is it not they who are the liars? ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary On the Day when Allah will raise them all from the dead they will swear before Him as they swear before you today,[1] thinking that this will avail them.
