Surah Al-Ma'idah (The Feast) — سورة المائدة - **Verse:** 70 / 120 · **Juz:** 6 · **Mushaf page:** 118 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-maidah/verse-70 ## Arabic لَقَدْ اَخَذْنَا م۪يثَاقَ بَن۪ٓي اِسْرَٓائ۪لَ وَاَرْسَلْـنَٓا اِلَيْهِمْ رُسُلاًۜ كُلَّمَا جَٓاءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ بِمَا لَا تَهْوٰٓى اَنْفُسُهُمْۙ فَر۪يقاً كَذَّبُوا وَفَر۪يقاً يَقْتُلُونَ ## Transcription Laqad akhathna meethaqabanee isra-eela waarsalna ilayhim rusulan kullamajaahum rasoolun bima la tahwaanfusuhum fareeqan kaththaboo wafareeqan yaqtuloon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley We made a covenant with the tribe of Israel and We sent Messengers to them. Each time a Messenger came to them with something their lower selves did not desire, they denied some and they murdered others. ### Progressive Muslims We have taken the covenant of the Children of Israel and We sent to them Our messengers. Every time a messenger came to them with what their souls did not desire, a group of them they would reject, and a group of them they would kill. ### Shabbir Ahmed We made a Covenant with the Children of Israel to follow the Commandments, and sent Messengers to them. İlgili ayetlerde geçen öldürme /katl kelimesinin kök anlamlarından biri izlal (Müfredat) yani itibarı ile oynamadır. Yahudiler, İsa aleyhisselamı öldürdüklerini söylerler ([Nisa 4/157](https://quran.so/4/157)). Hıristiyanlar da sistemlerini, İsa aleyhisselamın çarmıha gerilip defnedilmesinden üç gün sonra kabrinden çıkarak Celile'de 11 havarisine gö­ründüğü iddiası üzerine kurarlar (Matta 28/16–20). İncil, Allah'ın İsa aleyhisselama indirdiği kitaptır ([Maide 5/46](https://quran.so/5/46)). Onun ölümünden sonrası ile ilgili sözler İncil'e ait olamaz. Bazı İncillere Yahya aleyhisselamın öldürüldüğü iddiaları da sokuşturulmuştur (Matta 14/3-12, Markos 6/17-29). Halbuki Kur'an, bu iki nebinin öldürüldüklerinden değil, öldüklerinden söz eder ve öldükleri gün tam bir güven içinde olduklarını bildirir [(Meryem 19/15](https://quran.so/19/15) ve [33](https://quran.so/19/33)). Nebiler gibi dürüst davranmaya davet eden insanların kişiliklerini öldürme gayretleri de eskiden olduğu gibi bugün de devam etmektedir ([Al-i İmran 3/21](https://quran.so/3/21)-[22](https://quran.so/3/22)).
