وَيَقُولُ الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُٓوا اَهٰٓؤُ۬لَٓاءِ الَّذ۪ينَ اَقْسَمُوا بِاللّٰهِ جَهْدَ اَيْمَانِهِمْۙ اِنَّهُمْ لَمَعَكُمْۜ حَبِطَتْ اَعْمَالُهُمْ فَاَصْبَحُوا خَاسِر۪ينَ

## Transcription

Wayaqoolu allatheena amanoo ahaola-iallatheena aqsamoo billahi jahda aymanihiminnahum lamaAAakum habitat aAAmaluhum faasbahookhasireen

## Translations

### Aisha Bewley

Those who have iman say, ‘Are these the people who swore by Allah, with their most earnest oaths, that they were with you?’ Their actions have come to nothing and they now are losers.

### Progressive Muslims

And those who believe said: "Were these the ones who swore oaths by God that they are with you" Their works have collapsed, and they have become losers.

The believers will then wonder: "Are these the same people who swore by Allah that they were with the believers?" Eventually, all their deeds will go to waste and they will be great losers.
