Surah Al-Kahf (The Cave) — سورة الكهف - **Verse:** 105 / 110 · **Juz:** 16 · **Mushaf page:** 303 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-kahf/verse-105 ## Arabic اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ الَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُوا بِاٰيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَلِقَٓائِه۪ فَحَبِطَتْ اَعْمَالُهُمْ فَلَا نُق۪يمُ لَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ وَزْناً ## Transcription Ola-ika allatheena kafaroobi-ayati rabbihim waliqa-ihi fahabitataAAmaluhum fala nuqeemu lahum yawma alqiyamatiwazna ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Those are the people who reject their Lord’s Signs and the meeting with Him. Their actions will come to nothing and, on the Day of Rising, We will not assign them any weight. ### Progressive Muslims These are the ones who rejected the revelations of their Lord and His meeting. So their works were in vain, and We will not give them any value on the Day of Resurrection. ### Shabbir Ahmed It is they who have chosen to deny their Sustainer's Messages and the truth that they are destined to meet Him. Hence, their works are vain, and on the Day of Resurrection We will assign no weight to them. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation “Those are they who deny the proofs of their Lord and the meeting with Him; so their works are in vain, and We will assign to them on the Day of Resurrection no weight. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation These are the ones who rejected the revelations of their Lord and His meeting. So their works were in vain, and We will not give them any value on the Day of Resurrection. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament Such are the ones who disbelieved in the revelations of their Lord and in meeting Him. Therefore, their works are in vain; on the Day of Resurrection, they have no weight. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira They are those who reject the signs of their Lord, and the meeting with Him. So their good deeds will be fruitless, and on the Day of Judgement We shall not appoint any weighing for them. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) Those are the ones who disbelieve in the verses of their Lord and in [their] meeting Him, so their deeds have become worthless; and We will not assign to them on the Day of Resurrection any importance. ### Muhammad Asad it is they who have chosen to deny their Sustainer's messages and the truth; that they are deseined to meet Him. " Hence, all their [good] deeds come to nought, and no weight shall We assign to them on Resurrection Day. ### Marmaduke Pickthall Those are they who disbelieve in the revelations of their Lord and in the meeting with Him. Therefor their works are vain, and on the Day of Resurrection We assign no weight to them. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Those are the ones who refused to believe in the revelations of their Lord and that they are bound to meet Him. Hence, all their deeds have come to naught, and We shall assign no weight to them on the Day of Resurrection.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] "So worthless will be their deeds" in the sense that they will be of no avail to them in the life after death, even though they might have considered them as their great achievements but the fact is that they will lose all their value as soon as the world shall come to an end. When they will go before their Lord, and all their deeds shall be placed in the scales, they will have no weight at all whether they had built great palaces, established great universities and libraries, set up great factories and laboratories, constructed highways and railways, in short, all their inventions, industries, sciences and arts and other things of which they were very proud in this world, will lose their weights in the scales. The only thing which will have weight there will be that which had been done in accordance with the divine instructions and with the intention to please Allah. It is, therefore, obvious that if all of one’s endeavors were confined to the worldly things and the achievement of worldly desires whose results one would see in this world, one should not reasonably expect to see their results in the Hereafter, for they would have gone waste with the end of this world. It is equally obvious, that only the deeds of the one, who performed them strictly in accordance with His instructions to win His approval with a view to avail of their results in the Hereafter, will find that his deeds had weight in the scales. On the contrary, such a one will find that all his endeavors in the world had gone waste. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab It is these who have denied the truth of their Creator's signs and counselled deaf to His spirit of truth guiding into all truth and to His promise of Judgment at Resurrection. In consequence their hopes shall be doomed to disappointment and their deeds to worthlessness, and in Day of Judgement We will attach to them no importance nor shall their pleading be of weight. ### Bijan Moeinian The works of those who deny the Revelations of the Lord and meeting Him, are in vain. On the Day of Judgment, I will not take into consideration their good works at all. ### Al-Hilali & Khan "They are those who deny the Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord and the Meeting with Him (in the Hereafter). So their works are in vain, and on the Day of Resurrection, We shall assign no weight for them. ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali They are those who deny the Signs of their Lord and the fact of their having to meet Him (in the Hereafter): vain will be their works, nor shall We, on the Day of Judgment, give them any weight. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran It is they who reject the signs of their Lord and their meeting with Him, rendering their deeds void, so We will not give their deeds any weight on Judgment Day. ### Taqi Usmani Those are the ones who rejected the signs of their Lord and (the concept of) meeting with Him, so their deeds have gone to waste, and We shall assign to them no weight at all. ### Abdul Haleem It is those who disbelieve in their Lord’s messages and deny that they will meet Him.’ Their deeds come to nothing: on the Day of Resurrection We shall give them no weight. ### Arthur John Arberry Those are they that disbelieve in the signs of their Lord and the encounter with Him; their works have failed, and on the Day of Resurrection We shall not assign to them any weight. ### E. Henry Palmer Those who misbelieve in the signs of their Lord and in meeting Him, vain are their works; and we will not give them right weight on the resurrection day. ### Hamid S. Aziz Those who erred in their endeavours in the life of this world, and who thought they were acquiring good by their deeds. " ### Mahmoud Ghali Those are they who have disbelieved in the signs of their Lord, and the meeting with Him, so their deeds have (been) frustrated. Then on the Day of the Resurrection We will not set up for them any weight (i.e., their deeds will not be counted in the Balance with good deeds). ### George Sale These are they who believe not in the signs of their Lord, or that they shall be assembled before Him; wherefore their works are vain, and We will not allow them any weight on the day of resurrection. ### Syed Vickar Ahamed They are those who reject the Signs of their Lord and the fact of their having to meet Him (in the Hereafter): Useless will be their works, nor shall We, on the Day of Judgment, give them any consideration. ### Amatul Rahman Omar It is these who disbelieve in and deny the Messages of Allâh and the meeting with Him. So their deeds have gone vain, and on the Day of Resurrection We shall assign them no weight. ### Ali Quli Qarai They are the ones who deny the signs of their Lord and the encounter with Him. Artık onların yapıp ettikleri boşa çıkmıştır, kıyamet gününde onlar için bir tartı tutmayacağız. ### Hasan Basri Çantay — Kur'an-ı Hakim ve Meal-i Kerim Onlar Rablerinin ayetlerini ve Ona kavuşmayı (inkar ile) kafir olup da (hayr namına bütün) yapdıkları boşa gitmiş bulunanlardır ki biz kıyamet gününde onlar için hiçbir ölçü tutmayacağız. ### İbni Kesir İşte onlar, Rabblarının ayetlerini ve O'na kavuşmayı inkar edenlerdir. Bunun için yaptıkları boşa gitmiştir. Kıyamet günü Biz, onlara değer vermeyeceğiz. ### Muhammed Esed — Kur'an Mesajı Rablerinin mesajlarını ve O'nun huzuruna çıkarılacakları gerçeğini inkar yolunu seçen kimseler işte böyleleridir. Bunun içindir ki, böylelerinin bütün yapıp ettikleri boşa gitmektedir: Çünkü Kıyamet Günü onlara hiç değer vermeyeceğiz. ### Şaban Piriş — Kur'an-ı Kerim Türkçe Anlamı Bunlar, Rablerinin ayetlerini ve onunla karşılaşmayı tanımamış, bu sebeple yaptıkları boşa gitmiştir.
