Surah Al-Jinn (The Jinn) — سورة الجن - **Verse:** 23 / 28 · **Juz:** 29 · **Mushaf page:** 572 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-jinn/verse-23 ## Arabic اِلَّا بَلَاغاً مِنَ اللّٰهِ وَرِسَالَاتِه۪ۜ وَمَنْ يَعْصِ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَاِنَّ لَهُ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِد۪ينَ ف۪يهَٓا اَبَداًۜ ## Transcription Illa balaghan mina Allahiwarisalatihi waman yaAAsi Allahawarasoolahu fa-inna lahu nara jahannama khalideenafeeha abada ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley only in transmitting from Allah and His Messages. As for him who disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he will have the Fire of Hell, remaining in it timelessly, for ever and ever.’ ### Progressive Muslims It is but an announcement from God, and His messages. And whosoever disobeys God and His messenger, then he will have the fire of Hell to dwell eternally therein. ### Shabbir Ahmed If I fail to convey to people what I receive from Allah and make His Messages known. " Now as for him who rebels against God and His Apostle - verily, the fire of hell awaits him, therein to abide beyond the count of time. ### Marmaduke Pickthall (Mine is) but conveyance (of the Truth) from Allah, and His messages; and whoso disobeyeth Allah and His messenger, lo! his is fire of hell, wherein such dwell for ever. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary (My task is no more than) to deliver Allah's proclamation and His messages.[1] And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, surely the Fire of Hell awaits him; therein he will abide in perpetuity."[2] _Footnotes_ - [1] That is, I do not claim to have any share or role in the Godhead of Allah, nor that I possess any power in making or marring the people’s destinies. I am only a Messenger and the mission that has been entrusted to me is no more than that I should convey the messages of Allah to you. As for the powers of Godhead, they wholly belong to Allah. Not to speak of benefiting or harming others, I do not have the power to cause good or harm even to myself. If I disobey Allah, I cannot seek and have refuge anywhere from His punishment, and I have no helper and protector beside Allah. (For further explanation, see(E.N. 7 of Surah Ash-Shura). - [2] This does not mean that every sin and act of disobedience will cause one to live in Hell forever, but in view of the context in which this thing bas been said, the verse means: the one who does not accept the invitation to Tauhid given by Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) and does not refrain from polytheism will suffer in Hell forever. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab "But I can only submit to you the facts revealed by Allah and deliver to you His Divine Message, and he who disobeys Allah and His Messenger shall suffer Hell wherein he and such persons shall remain forever". ### Bijan Moeinian Say: "My mission is only to relay God’s message. Dolayısı ile Resul'e itaat etmek demek, aslında Allah'a itaat etmek demektir. Resul'e tabi olmak demek, Allah'a yani vahye tabi olmak demektir. "Kur'an, Allah'ın kelamı, Resul'ün beyanıdır/sözüdür." Diğer bir ifade ile Resul'ün sözleri "ayettir", Nebi'nin sözleri ise "şahsidir" ve Nebi'nin şahsına aittir. Resul'ün söyledikleri ise şahsına ait olmayıp Allah'a aittir. (69:40) Resul, hatasızdır. Nebi'nin yanıldığı olmuştur. Resul ilahi koruma altındadır. Resul'e itiraz etmek, Allah'a itiraz etmektir. Ama Nebi'ye itiraz edilebilir, nitekim sahabe zaman zaman bunu yapmıştır. Allah'a itaatin emredildiği ayetlerde, bir terkip olarak Resul'e de itaat emredilmektedir. Aslında bu itaat, Resul'ün şahsına değil, onun vahiy olan sözlerine itaat etmektir ve bu Allah'a itaat etmek anlamına gelmektedir. Yani "Allah ve Resul'ü" terkibi, iki ayrı şey değil, yalnızca Allah'ı kast eden bir terkiptir. Bu terkipte yer alan "ve" edatı, "atf-ı beyan" olarak kendinden önceki kelimeyi kendinden sonraki kelime ile açıklama görevi yapmaktadır. Bu kurala göre Allah ve Resul'üne itaat etmek demek, anlam olarak yalnızca "Allah'a, vahye itaat etmek" demektir. ### Süleymaniye Vakfı — Süleymaniye Vakfı Meali Benim yapabileceğim sadece, Allah'tan geleni, onun mesajlarını, ulaştırmaktır[1].
