Surah Al-Jathiyah (Crouching) — سورة الجاثية - **Verse:** 19 / 37 · **Juz:** 25 · **Mushaf page:** 499 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-jathiyah/verse-19 ## Arabic اِنَّهُمْ لَنْ يُغْنُوا عَنْكَ مِنَ اللّٰهِ شَيْـٔاًۜ وَاِنَّ الظَّالِم۪ينَ بَعْضُهُمْ اَوْلِيَٓاءُ بَعْضٍۚ وَاللّٰهُ وَلِيُّ الْمُتَّق۪ينَ ## Transcription Innahum lan yughnoo AAanka mina Allahishay-an wa-inna aththalimeena baAAduhumawliyao baAAdin wallahu waliyyualmuttaqeen ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley They will not help you in any way against Allah. The wrongdoers are protectors of one another but Allah is the Protector of those who have taqwa. ### Progressive Muslims They cannot help you against God in the least. And the transgressors are allies to one another, while God is the Protector of the righteous. ### Shabbir Ahmed Behold, they cannot avail you the least against Allah. And, verily, the wrongdoers are friends unto one another, while Allah is the Friend of those who walk aright. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation They will avail thee nothing against God. And indeed, the wrongdoers are allies of one another; but Allah is the protector of the righteous. ### Muhammad Asad Behold, they could never be of any avail to thee if thou wert to defy the will of God for, verily, such evildoers are but friends and protectors of one another, whereas God is the Protector of all who are conscious of Him. ### Marmaduke Pickthall Lo! they can avail thee naught against Allah. And lo! as for the wrong-doers, some of them are friends of others; and Allah is the Friend of those who ward off (evil). ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Surely they will be of no avail to you against Allah.[1] Indeed the wrong-doers are friends of each other, whereas Allah is the friend of the God-fearing. _Footnotes_ - [1] That is, if you make any changes in Allah’s religion only to please them, they will not be able to save you from Allah’s accountability and punishment. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab They are of no advantage to you nor can they avail you protection from Allah's punishment. In fact the perverse who are wrongful of actions joined in mutual intimacy, whereas Allah is the friend and protector of those who are eminent in piety; they enjoy His special favour. ### Bijan Moeinian [If you make any change in the law to please them, ] God’s anger upon you can not be stopped by them. The wrongdoers ally together; God allies with the righteous ones [what an imbalance of alliance]. ### Al-Hilali & Khan Verily, they can avail you nothing against Allâh (if He wants to punish you). Verily, the Zâlimûn (polytheists, wrong-doers) are Auliyâ’ (protectors, helpers) of one another, but Allâh is the Walî (Helper, Protector) of the Muttaqûn (the pious. See V.2:2). ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali They will be of no use to thee in the sight of Allah: it is only Wrong-doers (that stand as) protectors, one to another: but Allah is the Protector of the Righteous. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran They certainly can be of no benefit to you against Allah whatsoever. Surely the wrongdoers are patrons of each other, whereas Allah is the Patron of the righteous. ### Taqi Usmani They will never help you against Allah in the least. Surely, the wrongdoers are helping-friends one of the other, but Allâh is the helping-friend of those who have become secure against evil. ### Ali Quli Qarai Indeed they will not avail you in any way against Allah.
