Surah Al-Isra (The Night Journey) — سورة الإسراء - **Verse:** 45 / 111 · **Juz:** 15 · **Mushaf page:** 285 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-isra/verse-45 ## Arabic وَاِذَا قَرَأْتَ الْقُرْاٰنَ جَعَلْنَا بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ الَّذ۪ينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْاٰخِرَةِ حِجَاباً مَسْتُوراًۙ ## Transcription Wa-itha qara/ta alqur-anajaAAalna baynaka wabayna allatheena layu/minoona bil-akhirati hijabanmastoora ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley When you recite the Qur’an, We place an obscuring veil between you and those who do not believe in the akhira. ### Progressive Muslims And when you study the Quran, We place between you and those who do not believe in the Hereafter an invisible barrier. ### Shabbir Ahmed The prejudiced among them approach you with a closed mind when you convey the Qur'an to them (17:41). Since they believe not in the life to come, they are preoccupied with immediate gains only. And their attitude causes Our Law to create a hidden (psychological) barrier between you and them.
