Surah Al-Isra (The Night Journey) — سورة الإسراء - **Verse:** 35 / 111 · **Juz:** 15 · **Mushaf page:** 284 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-isra/verse-35 ## Arabic وَاَوْفُوا الْكَيْلَ اِذَا كِلْتُمْ وَزِنُوا بِالْقِسْطَاسِ الْمُسْتَق۪يمِۜ ذٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ وَاَحْسَنُ تَأْو۪يلاً ## Transcription Waawfoo alkayla itha kiltum wazinoobilqistasi almustaqeemi thalika khayrun waahsanuta/weela ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Give full measure when you measure and weigh with a level balance. That is better and gives the best result. ### Progressive Muslims And give full measure when you deal, and weigh with a balance that is straight. That is good and better in the end. ### Shabbir Ahmed (Always be mindful of just dealings. ) Give full measure when you measure, and weigh with even scale. This is the best way and will prove to be best in the end. Afterwards it was made one of the duties of the government to eradicate dishonesty in all commercial dealings and economic transactions. - [2] That is, its end will be best in this world and it will be best in the Hereafter. It is best in this world because it produces mutual trust between sellers and buyers. As a result of this, commerce prospers and there is a general prosperity. As regards the Hereafter, there the end depends entirely on honesty, piety and fear of God. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Dispense the quantity ascertained by measuring to the full if you happen to sell by a standard measure. And if you are using the method of weighing then you are enjoined to use an accurate and precise balance conforming to a standard, and an exemplar of truth and equity. This is a wise course of action ensuring safety and leading to the intended purpose. ### Bijan Moeinian You shall give full measure when you measure, and weigh with a correct scale.
