But if we try to understand the matter in the context of the theme of the whole Surah, we can easily understand the connection between the two. The main object of this Surah is to give a warning to the disbelievers of Makkah. That is why the mention of Miraj has been made in the very first verse, as if to say: The person whom you dub as an impostor and reject the Book sent down to him, has just now seen with his naked eyes great signs of Allah. So you should learn a lesson from the history of the Israelites who discarded the Book of Allah and therefore, were given painful punishment. - [2] The Arabic word vakil (guardian) denotes a person who is trustworthy and can be depended upon in regard to his affairs and may be turned to for guidance and help. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab It was within these precincts which constituted the heart of the Sacred environs that Bani Isra‘il (the Children of Israel) were directed to make their abode and We sent to them Mussa to whom We gave the Book, -AL-Tawrah (Torah)- which was a guide into all truth, and We enjoined them thus: "Take no tutelary guardian", We said, "other than Me". ### Bijan Moeinian God is the One Who revealed the Scripture to Moses to be used as the guidance for the children of Israel that: "You should not take anyone else but Me (God) as your protector. Bununla beraber Tevrat, belli bir nebinin ismiyle anılmayıp İsrailoğullarına gelen tüm nebilere verilen kitapların ortak bir ismi olarak zikredilmektedir. İsrailoğullarına gönderilen nebiler Tevrat ile hüküm vermişlerdir ([Maide 5/44](https://quran.so/5/44)). Her nebiye kitap verildiğine göre ([Bakara 2/136](https://quran.so/2/136)) İsrailoğullarının nebilerine indirilen kitapların toplamına Tevrat ismi verildiği anlaşılmaktadır.
