Surah Al-Isra (The Night Journey) — سورة الإسراء - **Verse:** 104 / 111 · **Juz:** 15 · **Mushaf page:** 291 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-isra/verse-104 ## Arabic وَقُلْنَا مِنْ بَعْدِه۪ لِبَن۪ٓي اِسْرَٓائ۪لَ اسْكُنُوا الْاَرْضَ فَاِذَا جَٓاءَ وَعْدُ الْاٰخِرَةِ جِئْنَا بِكُمْ لَف۪يفاًۜ ## Transcription Waqulna min baAAdihi libanee isra-eelaoskunoo al-arda fa-itha jaa waAAdu al-akhiratiji/na bikum lafeefa ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley We said to the tribe of Israel after that, ‘Inhabit the land and, when the promise of the Next World comes, We will produce you as a motley crowd. ’ ### Progressive Muslims And We said after him to the Children of Israel: "Dwell in the land, then, when the time of the second promise comes, We will bring you all together as a mixed crowd. " ### Shabbir Ahmed After that We said to the Children of Israel, "Dwell now securely in the earth but remember that when the last promise comes to pass, We shall bring you as a crowd gathered out of various nations. " ### Muhammad Asad And after that We said unto the children of Israel: "Dwell now securely on earth - but [remember that] when the promise of the Last Day shall come to pass, We will bring you forth as [parts of] a motley crowd! ### Marmaduke Pickthall And We said unto the Children of Israel after him: Dwell in the land; but when the promise of the Hereafter cometh to pass We shall bring you as a crowd gathered out of various nations. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary and thereafter We said to the Children of Israel: "Now dwell in the land,[1] but when the promised time of the Hereafter comes, We shall bring you all together." _Footnotes_ - [1] This part of the story of Pharaoh has been related here because it applied exactly to the mushriks of Makkah who were doing their best to uproot the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the believers from the land of Arabia. This story, so to say, tells them: Pharaoh resolved to uproot Moses (peace be upon him) and the Israelites but was himself completely annihilated along with his followers. But Moses (peace be upon him) and his followers settled down in the land. Likewise, if you persist on the same way, you will surely meet with the same end. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Following Pharaoh's death, We said to Bani Isra‘il: "Now you may have your abode in the promised land, and when the promised Day of Judgement comes to pass We will gather you and all the others from wherever you may be". ### Bijan Moeinian Then I said to the children of Israel: "Settle down in this land; when My promised time comes, I will summon you all together in one group.
