Secondly, it is your Lord’s bounty and kindness that you can freely do whatever you like in the world and it never so happens that whenever you happen to commit an error, He should punish you with paralysis, or blind your eyes, or cause lightning to strike you. Buna göre şae (شاء) fiilinin öznesi Allah olursa "gerekeni yaptı veya yarattı", insan olursa "gerekeni yaptı" anlamında olur. Allah insanlara, tercihlerine göre davranma hürriyeti vermeseydi hiç kimse yanlış bir şey yapamaz ve imtihan diye bir şey de olmazdı ([Nahl 16/93](https://quran.so/16/93)). Yanlış kader anlayışını imanın bir esası gibi İslam'a yerleştirmek isteyenler, büyük bir çarpıtma yaparak şae (شاء) fiiline irade yani isteme ve dileme anlamı vermiş; bunu, tefsirlere hatta sözlüklere bile yerleştirerek birçok ayetin mealini bozmuşlardır.
