Surah Al-Hijr (The Rock) — سورة الحجر - **Verse:** 88 / 99 · **Juz:** 14 · **Mushaf page:** 265 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-hijr/verse-88 ## Arabic لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ اِلٰى مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِه۪ٓ اَزْوَاجاً مِنْهُمْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِن۪ينَ ## Transcription La tamuddanna AAaynayka ila mamattaAAna bihi azwajan minhum wala tahzanAAalayhim wakhfid janahaka lilmu/mineen ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Do not direct your eyes longingly to what We have given certain of them to enjoy. Do not feel sad concerning them. And take the muminun under your wing. ### Progressive Muslims So do not linger with your eyes on what We have bestowed upon some couples from them, and do not grieve for them, and lower your wing for the believers. ### Shabbir Ahmed So do not even look at the worldly possessions that We have given to different people (among the deniers) and grieve not that their luxuries keep them from seeing the Truth. But lower your wing of kindness to the believers.
