Surah Al-Haqqah (The Reality) — سورة الحاقة - **Verse:** 47 / 52 · **Juz:** 29 · **Mushaf page:** 567 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-haqqah/verse-47 ## Arabic فَمَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ اَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَاجِز۪ينَ ## Transcription Fama minkum min ahadin AAanhu hajizeen ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley and not one of you could have protected him. ### Progressive Muslims None of you would be able to prevent it. ### Shabbir Ahmed And none of you could stop Us from doing that. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation And not one of you could have protected him.) ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation None of you would be able to prevent it. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament None of you could have helped him. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira And not one of you would have been able to stop (Us). ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) And there is no one of you who could prevent [Us] from him. ### Muhammad Asad and none of you could have saved him! ### Marmaduke Pickthall And not one of you could have held Us off from him. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary and not one of you would have been able to withhold Us from doing so.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] The object is to impress the point that the Prophet (peace be upon him) has no authority whatsoever to make any change in the revelation. If he did so, he would be severely punished. The style depicts the prompt and quick action of a king who strikes off the head of an official, holding him by the hand, if he commits a forgery in his name. Some people have misconstrued this verse to mean that if the heart-vein or neck-vein of an impostor is not immediately severed by Allah, it would be a proof that he was a true prophet, whereas in this verse what has been said is about a true prophet and not about the impostors. Same impostors have even claimed to be God and have thrived and lived long lives in the world, so it could not be a proof of the truth of their claim.
