Surah Al-Furqan (The Criterion) — سورة الفرقان - **Verse:** 67 / 77 · **Juz:** 19 · **Mushaf page:** 364 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-furqan/verse-67 ## Arabic وَالَّذ۪ينَ اِذَٓا اَنْفَقُوا لَمْ يُسْرِفُوا وَلَمْ يَقْتُرُوا وَكَانَ بَيْنَ ذٰلِكَ قَوَاماً ## Transcription Wallatheena ithaanfaqoo lam yusrifoo walam yaqturoo wakana bayna thalikaqawama ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley those who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor mean, but take a stance mid way between the two; ### Progressive Muslims And those who when they give they are not excessive nor stingy, but they are in a measure between that. ### Shabbir Ahmed - And those who when they spend their wealth, are neither wasteful, nor stingy. (2:219). They neither go beyond prudence and necessity in expenditure nor live in wretched circumstances in order to save and hoard money but are frugal. This was the characteristic of the followers of the Prophet (peace be upon him), which distinguished them from the well-to-do people of Arabia, who were either spend thrifts in regard to the gratification of their own lusts or niggardly in spending their money on good works. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab d) The worshippers who are neither extravagant nor niggardly; when they spend they do not play the prodigal nor do they act parsimoniously, but they use a mean. ### Bijan Moeinian They are the ones who are neither extravagant in spending nor stingy.
