Surah Al-Furqan (The Criterion) — سورة الفرقان - **Verse:** 54 / 77 · **Juz:** 19 · **Mushaf page:** 363 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-furqan/verse-54 ## Arabic وَهُوَ الَّذ۪ي خَلَقَ مِنَ الْمَٓاءِ بَشَراً فَجَعَلَهُ نَسَباً وَصِهْراًۜ وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ قَد۪يراً ## Transcription Wahuwa allathee khalaqa mina alma-ibasharan fajaAAalahu nasaban wasihran wakanarabbuka qadeera ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley And it is He who created human beings from water and then gave them relations by blood and marriage. Your Lord is All-Powerful. ### Progressive Muslims And He is the One who created a human being from the water, so He made for him blood kin and mates. And your Lord is Capable. ### Shabbir Ahmed And He it is Who has created the human being from this very water, (21:30), (24:45) and then He has established relationships by lineage and by marriage, for, your Lord is the Designer of all things. Your Lord is All-Powerful.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] Here the miracle of the birth of man from a mere sperm drop and the procreation of his offspring from man and woman have been cited as a proof of Tauhid. Though both man and woman belong to the same genus, they are two species, having important common human characteristics but different physical structures and psychological traits. It is a proof of Tauhid that the All- Powerful Allah has used this difference for making the two as complements and not antagonists. It is also the design of the All-Powerful Creator that He is creating sons and daughters in the world in due proportion Then the sons marry and create blood relationships, and the daughters are married and become means of forming new relationships.
