And He it is that appointed for you the night as a covering, and sleep as a rest, and appointed the day as a resurrection.
It is He who made the night a cloak for you and sleep a rest, and He made the day a time for rising.

And, He it is Who makes night a robe for you, and sleep a rest, and makes every day to be a resurrection.

And He it is who makes the night a garment for you, and sleep a rest, and causes every day to be a resurrection.
And He it is Who maketh night a covering for you, and sleep repose, and maketh day a resurrection.
It is Allah Who has made night a garment for you,* and sleep the repose (of death), and has made day the time of rising to life.*
And He is it Who made the night a vestment, and black was the colour chosen to absorb all light and sleep -the medicine to weariness and the repairer of decay- a repose -which if profound suggests death- and We made the day a phase of revival and resurrection of activity.
God is the One Who brings the night as a cover for your sleep (a prelude to death) and brings back the day for your resurrection.
And it is He Who makes the night a covering for you, and the sleep (as) a repose, and makes the day Nushûr (i.e. getting up and going about here and there for daily work, after one’s sleep at night, or like resurrection after one’s death).
And He it is Who makes the Night as a Robe for you, and Sleep as Repose, and makes the Day (as it were) a Resurrection.

Then We contract it towards Us with a gradual contraction in easy stages.

It is He who hath ordained the night to cover you as a garment; and sleep to give you rest; and hath ordained the day for waking.
And it is He Who makes the night as a (long) cover for you, and sleep as rest, and makes the day (like) a resurrection.
It is He Who has made the night as a covering mantle for you and (Who has made) sleep for (a short) rest (as well as a sign of eternal rest - the death), and (has made) the day for rising up and going about (to seek livelihood and also a sign of Resurrection).
It is He who made for you the night as a covering and sleep for rest and He made the day a recall to life.
