Surah Al-Furqan (The Criterion) — سورة الفرقان - **Verse:** 4 / 77 · **Juz:** 18 · **Mushaf page:** 359 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-furqan/verse-4 ## Arabic وَقَالَ الَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُٓوا اِنْ هٰذَٓا اِلَّٓا اِفْكٌۨ افْتَرٰيهُ وَاَعَانَهُ عَلَيْهِ قَوْمٌ اٰخَرُونَۚۛ فَقَدْ جَٓاؤُ۫ ظُلْماً وَزُوراًۚۛ ## Transcription Waqala allatheena kafaroo in hathailla ifkun iftarahu waaAAanahu AAalayhiqawmun akharoona faqad jaoo thulmanwazoora ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Those who are kafir say, ‘This is nothing but a lie he has invented and other people have helped him to do it. They have brought injustice and falsehood.’ ### Progressive Muslims And those who rejected said: "This is but a falsehood that he invented and other people have helped him with it; for they have come with what is wrong and fabricated. " ### Shabbir Ahmed Those who are bent on denying the Truth say, "This (Qur'an) is a lie that he has devised with the help of other people. " Wrong is what they do and falsehood is what they utter. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation And those who ignore warning say: “This is only a falsehood; he invented it, and other people assisted him in it.” And they have brought injustice and falsehood. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation And those who rejected said: "This is but a falsehood that he invented and other people have helped him with it." Certainly, they have come with what is unjust and fabricated. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament Those who disbelieved said, "This is a fabrication that he produced, with the help of some other people." They have uttered a blasphemy and a falsehood. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira Yet the unbelievers say: "This is nothing but a lie he has concocted in which others have aided him. " They have come down to mischief and lies. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) And those who disbelieve say, "This [Qur'an] is not except a falsehood he invented, and another people assisted him in it. " But they have committed an injustice and a lie. ### Muhammad Asad Moreover, those who are bent on denying the truth are wont to say, "This [Qur’an] is nothing but a lie, which he [himself] has devised with the help of other people, who thereupon have perverted the truth and brought a falsehood into being. " ### Marmaduke Pickthall Those who disbelieve say: This is naught but a lie that he hath invented, and other folk have helped him with it, so that they have produced a slander and a lie. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Those who disbelieve in the Message of the Prophet say: "This (Criterion) is nothing but a lie which he has forged with the help of others." How wrongful can they get and how unjust and impudent can they be to cause what is true to be rejected as false. ### Bijan Moeinian Those who disbelieve say: "This Qur’an is nothing but a bunch of lies fabricated by Mohammad with the help of others. " In fact it is they who have fabricated a lie and how unjust of them. ### Al-Hilali & Khan Those who disbelieve say: "This (the Qur’ân) is nothing but a lie that he (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) has invented, and others have helped him at it. In fact they have produced an unjust wrong (thing) and a lie." ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali But the misbelievers say: "Naught is this but a lie which he has forged, and others have helped him at it." In truth it is they who have put forward an iniquity and a falsehood. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran The disbelievers say, "This ˹Quran˺ is nothing but a fabrication which he[1] made up with the help of others." Their claim is totally unjustified and untrue! ### Taqi Usmani The disbelievers said, "This is nothing but a lie he (the messenger) has fabricated and some other people have helped him in it." Thus they came up with sheer injustice and falsehood. ### Abdul Haleem The disbelievers say, ‘This can only be a lie he has forged with the help of others’––they themselves have done great wrong and told lies–– ### Arthur John Arberry The unbelievers say, 'This is naught but a calumny he has forged, and other folk have helped him to it. ' So they have committed wrong and falsehood. ### E. Henry Palmer And those who misbelieve say, 'This is nothing but a lie which he has forged, and another people hath helped him at it;' but they have wrought an injustice and a falsehood. ### Hamid S. " In reality, it is they who have put forward an injustice and a lie. ### Amatul Rahman Omar But those who disbelieve say, `This (Qur'ân) is nothing but a big lie which he (- the false claimant to Prophethood) has forged and other people have helped him in this,' (by) so (saying) they have perpetrated a great injustice and a big falsehood. ### Ali Quli Qarai The faithless say, ‘This is nothing but a lie that he has fabricated, and other people have abetted him in it. ’ Thus they have certainly come out with wrongdoing and falsehood. ### Ahmed Hulusi — Türkçe Kur'an Çözümü Hakikat bilgisini inkar edenler dediler ki: "Bu (Kur'an) ancak O'nun uydurduğu bir yalandır. Başka bir kavim de (Yahudiler) bu konuda O'na yardım etmiştir". . . Gerçek ki, büyük haksızlık ve yalancı şahitlik suçu işlediler. ### Ali Bulaç — Kur'an-ı Kerim ve Türkçe Anlamı İnkar edenler dediler ki: "Bu (Kur'an) olsa olsa ancak onun uydurduğu bir yalandır, kendisi düzüp uydurmuş ve ona bir başka topluluk da yardımda bulunmuştur." Böylelikle onlar, hiç şüphesiz haksızlık ve iftira ile geldiler. ### Bayraktar Bayraklı — Yeni Bir Anlayışın Işığında Kur'an Meali İnkar edenler, "Bu Kur'an, Muhammed'in uydurduğu bir yalandır. Bu uydurmada ona başka bir topluluk da yardım etmiştir" dediler. Kafirler, bu sözleriyle haksızlık edip yalan söylemişlerdir. ### Diyanet İşleri — Kur'an-ı Kerim Türkçe Meali İnkar edenler, "Bu Kur'an, Muhammed'in uydurduğu bir yalandan başka bir şey değildir. Başka bir topluluk da bu konuda ona yardım etmiştir" dediler. Böylece onlar haksız ve asılsız bir söz uydurdular. ### Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır — Kur'an-ı Kerim ve Yüce Meali Ve o küfredenler "bu sırf bir iftira onu o, uydurdu, diğer bir kavim de buna karşı ona muavenette bulundu" dediler, doğrusu zulm-ü tezvire gittiler ### Elmalılı (sadeleştirilmiş) Küfredenler: "Bu yalnızca onun uydurduğu bir iftiradır, ona başka bir topluluk da yardım da bulunmuştur bu hususta." dediler. Bunlar, gerçekten haksızlık ve iftiraya saptılar. ### Gültekin Onan Küfredenler dediler ki: "Bu (Kuran) olsa olsa ancak onun uydurduğu bir yalandır, kendisi düzüp uydurmuş ve ona bir başka topluluk da yardımda bulunmuştur." Böylelikle onlar, hiç şüphesiz haksızlık ve iftira ile geldiler. ### Hasan Basri Çantay — Kur'an-ı Hakim ve Meal-i Kerim O kafirler: "Bu (Kur'an) onun uydurduğu yalandan başka (bir şey) değildir. Bu hususda diğer bir zümre de ona yardım etmişdir." dediler de muhakkak bir haksızlık ve tezvir (meydana) getirdiler. ### İbni Kesir Küfredenler dediler ki: Bu ancak onun uydurduğu bir yalandır ve ona bu hususta bir başka topluluk yardım etmiştir. Hiç şüphesiz onlar, zulüm ve iftira ile geldiler. ### Muhammed Esed — Kur'an Mesajı Üstelik, hakkı inkara şartlanmış olanlar: "Bu (Kuran) doğruyu çarpıtıp yalanı ve sahteyi ortaya çıkaran başka bir topluluğun yardımıyla o'nun (kendisinden) uydurduğu bir yalandan başka bir şey değildir" deyip duruyorlar. ### Şaban Piriş — Kur'an-ı Kerim Türkçe Anlamı İnkar edenler: -Bu, uydurduğu bir iftiradan başka bir şey değildir. Bu hususta bir topluluk da ona yardım etmiştir, dediler de zulüm ve yalanı seçtiler. ### Süleyman Ateş — Kur'an-ı Kerim ve Yüce Meali İnkar edenler: "Bu, yalandan başka bir şey değildir. (Muhammed) onu uydurdu, başka bir topluluk da kendisine yardım etti." dediler ve kesin bir haksızlığa ve iftiraya vardılar. ### Yaşar Nuri Öztürk — Kur'an-ı Kerim Meali Küfre batanlar dediler ki: "Bu, onun uydurduğu bir düzmeceden başka şey değildir. Ve bu düzmecede ona, başka bir topluluk da yardım etmiştir." Yemin olsun ki, bunu söyleyenler bir zulüm, günah ve iftira sergilemişlerdir. ### Mustafa İslamoğlu — Hayat Kitabı Kur’an Bir de inkarda ısrar eden o kimseler; "Bu onun uydurduğu bir yalandan başkası değildir; üstelik bu konuda başka bir topluluk da ona yardım etmiştir" dediler. İşte ileri sürdükleri bu iddiayla, hem haksızlık etmiş, hem de gerçeği çarpıtmış oldular. ### Erhan Aktaş (Eski Baskı) — Kerim Kur'an Gerçeği yalanlayan nankörler: "Bu sadece onun uydurduğu bir yalandır. Ona bu konuda diğer toplumlar da yardım etti." dediler. Böylece haksızca iftira ettiler. ### Ali Rıza Safa — Kur'an-ı Kerim Gerçek Nankörlük edenler, şöyle dediler: "Başka bir toplumun da yardımıyla, Onun uydurduğu bir yalandan başka bir şey değil bu!" Böylece, haksızlık yaptılar ve iftira ettiler. ### Süleymaniye Vakfı (Eski Baskı) — Süleymaniye Vakfı Meali Kendilerini doğrulara kapatanlar, "Bu (Kur'an) sadece, Muhammed'in uydurup Allah'a mal ettiği şeydir. Başka bir ekip de ona yardım ediyor" dediler. Böylece yanlışa ve yalana saptılar. ### Mehmet Okuyan — Kur’an Meal-Tefsir Kâfir olanlar "Bu (vahiy) ancak o (Muhammed)'in uydurduğu[1] ve kendisine başka bir grubun[2] da yardım ettiği bir iftiradır." diyerek, elbette bir haksızlığa ve yalana vardılar. _Footnotes_ - [1] Hz. Böyle bir durumda Kur'an'ın meydan okuma cümleleri de kolay bir şekilde karşılanıp Hz. Muhammed'in risalet iddiası mahkûm edilebilirdi. Oysa böyle şeyler olmamış ve onun risalet öğretileri hiç kimse tarafından iptal edilememiştir; iptal edilemeyecektir de. Çünkü Kur'an'ın meydan okuması devamlıdır. ### Erhan Aktaş (10.
