Allah did not intend to produce a book on guidance and spread its teachings through the agency of His Prophet (peace be upon him). Had it been so the disbelievers would have been justified in their objection as to why the Quran had not been sent down as a complete book all at once. The real object of the revelation of the Quran was that Allah intended to start a movement of faith, piety and righteousness to combat disbelief, ignorance and sin, and He had raised a Prophet to lead and guide the movement. Then, on the one hand, Allah had taken it upon Himself to send necessary instructions and guidance to the leader and his followers as and when needed, and on the other, He had also taken the responsibility to answer the objections and remove the doubts of opponents and give the right interpretation of things which they misunderstood. Thus the Quran was the collection of the different discourses that were being revealed by Allah; it was not merely meant to be a code of laws or of moral principles, but a Book, which was being sent down piecemeal to guide the movement in all its stages to suit its requirements on different occasions. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Nor do they present you with challenging questions and unreasonable objections but We present you with the truth and the best explanation meeting their objections and their arguments. ### Bijan Moeinian Thus, as soon as they come up with an objection, I reveal a firm answer. ### Al-Hilali & Khan And no example or similitude do they bring (to oppose or to find fault in you or in this Qur’ân), but We reveal to you the truth (against that similitude or example), and the better explanation thereof. ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali And no question do they bring to thee but We reveal to thee the truth and the best explanation (thereof). ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran Whenever they bring you an argument, We come to you with the right refutation and the best explanation. ### Taqi Usmani They bring to you no hypothesis, but We bring to you the correct position and (an answer) better explained. ### Abdul Haleem They cannot put any argument to you without Our bringing you the truth and the best explanation. ### Arthur John Arberry They bring not to thee any similitude but that We bring thee the truth, and better in exposition. ### E.
