Surah Al-Furqan (The Criterion) — سورة الفرقان - **Verse:** 31 / 77 · **Juz:** 19 · **Mushaf page:** 361 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-furqan/verse-31 ## Arabic وَكَذٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ عَدُواًّ مِنَ الْمُجْرِم۪ينَۜ وَكَفٰى بِرَبِّكَ هَادِياً وَنَص۪يراً ## Transcription Wakathalika jaAAalna likullinabiyyin AAaduwwan mina almujrimeena wakafa birabbika hadiyanwanaseera ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley In this way We have assigned to every Prophet an enemy from among the evildoers. But your Lord is a sufficient guide and helper. ### Progressive Muslims And it is such that We make for every prophet enemies from among the criminals. And your Lord suffices as a Guide and a Victor. ### Shabbir Ahmed Thus have we made for every Prophet enemies among the guilty, those who have been used to thriving on the fruit of others' toil. (6:112), (22:52-54). Yet, Your Lord is Sufficient for a Guide and Helper. Your Lord suffices you as a Guide and a Helper.[2] _Footnotes_ - [1] That is, it is not a new thing that the disbelievers have become your enemies, for it has always been so with all the former Prophets and Messengers. See also (Surah Al- Anaam, Ayats 112-113). This is inevitable because it is Our Law that the criminals will always oppose the truth. You should, therefore, pursue your mission with full confidence and determination without expecting any immediate results. - [2] Guidance does not only imply bestowing of the knowledge of the truth, but it also means giving the right guidance at the right time to guide the Islamic movement on the right lines and to defeat the strategy and scheme of the enemies of Islam. Help means all kinds of moral, spiritual and material help to the followers of the truth in their conflict against falsehood. Thus, Allah is All Sufficient for the righteous people and they need no other support provided they have full faith in Allah and fight falsehood with all their energies and strength. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Thus We applied to every prophet some enemies from the transgressors against the divine law who are characterized by satanic attributes. But enough is Allah, your Creator to be the guide -to whom He will- and to afford help -to whom He will-. ### Bijan Moeinian Do not worry; I have always appointed enemies for My Prophets from the criminals of the time.
