Surah Al-Furqan (The Criterion) — سورة الفرقان - **Verse:** 26 / 77 · **Juz:** 19 · **Mushaf page:** 361 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-furqan/verse-26 ## Arabic اَلْمُلْكُ يَوْمَئِذٍۨ الْحَقُّ لِلرَّحْمٰنِۜ وَكَانَ يَوْماً عَلَى الْكَافِر۪ينَ عَس۪يراً ## Transcription Almulku yawma-ithin alhaqqu lirrahmaniwakana yawman AAala alkafireena AAaseera ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley The Kingdom that Day will belong in truth to the All-Merciful. It will be a hard Day for the kafirun, ### Progressive Muslims The true kingship on that Day will be to the Almighty. And it is a Day which will be very hard on the rejecters. ### Shabbir Ahmed On that Day it will become obvious to all that the Sovereignty belongs to the Most Gracious alone. Hence, a Day of distress it will be for all those who had been rejecting the Truth. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation True dominion, that day, belongs to the Almighty; and it will be a difficult day for the false claimers of guidance. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation Thetrue kingship on that Day will be to the Almighty. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day. ### Muhammad Asad on that Day [it will become obvious to all that] true sover­eignty belongs to the Most Gracious [alone]: hence, a Day of distress will it be for all who deny the truth, ### Marmaduke Pickthall The Sovereignty on that day will be the True (Sovereignty) belonging to the Beneficent One, and it will be a hard day for disbelievers. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary On that Day the true kingdom will belong only to the Merciful Lord.[1] That will be a hard day for those that deny the Truth; _Footnotes_ - [1] That is, on that Day all other kingdoms, which deluded man in the world, will come to an end, and there will be only the Kingdom of Allah, Who is the real Sovereign of the universe. In (Surah Momin, Ayat 16), the same thing has been stated thus: On that Day when all the people will stand exposed, and nothing of them will be hidden from Allah, it will be asked: Whose is the Sovereignty today? The response from every side will be: Of Allah, the Almighty. According to a tradition, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Allah will take the heavens in one hand and the earth in the other, and will declare: I am the Sovereign: I am the Ruler. Where are the other rulers of the earth? Where are those tyrants? Where are the arrogant people? (Musnad Ahmad, Bukhari, Muslim, and Abu Daud, with slight variations). ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab There and then shall the true Sovereign Authority and the true meaningful and supreme control be exclusively that of Allah, AL-Rahman.
