Surah Al-Baqarah (The Cow) — سورة البقرة - **Verse:** 203 / 286 · **Juz:** 2 · **Mushaf page:** 31 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-baqarah/verse-203 ## Arabic وَاذْكُرُوا اللّٰهَ ف۪ٓي اَيَّامٍ مَعْدُودَاتٍۜ فَمَنْ تَعَجَّلَ ف۪ي يَوْمَيْنِ فَلَٓا اِثْمَ عَلَيْهِۚ وَمَنْ تَاَخَّرَ فَلَٓا اِثْمَ عَلَيْهِۙ لِمَنِ اتَّقٰىۜ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَاعْلَمُٓوا اَنَّكُمْ اِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ ## Transcription Wathkuroo Allaha feeayyamin maAAdoodatin faman taAAajjala fee yawmaynifala ithma AAalayhi waman taakhkhara fala ithmaAAalayhi limani ittaqa wattaqoo Allaha waAAlamooannakum ilayhi tuhsharoon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Remember Allah on the designated days. Those who hurry on in two days have done no wrong, and those who stay another day have done no wrong – those of them who have taqwa. So have taqwa of Allah. And know that you will be gathered back to Him. ### Progressive Muslims And remember God during a few number of days. Whoever hurries to two days, there is no sin upon him; and whoever delays, there is no sin upon him if he is being righteous. And be aware of God, and know that it is to Him that you will be gathered. ### Shabbir Ahmed The appointed days of Pilgrimage and Umrah are meant to remind one another of Allah's Commands. If a participant hastens his departure by a couple of days or delays it, there is no detriment in either case for those who walk aright. It is no sin for him who hastens off and returns in two days, and it is no sin for him who delays the return[1] provided he has spent the days in piety. Beware of disobeying Allah and know well that to Him you all shall be mustered. _Footnotes_ - [1] Whether a person returned on the 12th or on the 13th of Dhu al-Hijjah from Mina to Makka during the day of tashriq (i.e. from the 10th to 13th of Dhu al-Hijjah) was immaterial. What was of real importance was not the number of days spent at Mina but the intensity of one's devotion to God during the period of one's stay. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab And exercise your minds in devotion and in meditation on three specific days following the conclusion of AL-Hajj when AL-Shaytan is pelted with stones in the valley of Mina. As this is optional, you incur no blame if you should leave Macca two days before or after the due date if you sincerely venerate Allah and entertain the profound reverence dutiful to Him and faithfully realize that to Him shall you be thronged. ### Bijan Moeinian Worship your Lord for a few days in Mena. You may contemplate there only for two days or you may extend your stay as long as the aim is to increase your faith.
