Surah Al-Baqarah (The Cow) — سورة البقرة - **Verse:** 155 / 286 · **Juz:** 2 · **Mushaf page:** 23 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-baqarah/verse-155 ## Arabic وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ وَالْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِنَ الْاَمْوَالِ وَالْاَنْفُسِ وَالثَّمَرَاتِۜ وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِر۪ينَۙ ## Transcription Walanabluwannakum bishay-in mina alkhawfiwaljooAAi wanaqsin mina al-amwali wal-anfusiwaththamarati wabashshiri assabireen ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley We will test you with a certain amount of fear and hunger and loss of wealth and life and fruits. But give good news to the steadfast: ### Progressive Muslims And We will test you with some fear and hunger, and a shortage in money and lives and fruits. And give good news to those who are patient. ### Shabbir Ahmed (Adversity is a great barometer of the strength of personality. ) Fear, hunger, loss of wealth, loss of life and devastation of crops are examples of adversities that let you test your mettle. Our Law will let you try yourselves with such tribulations.
