Surah Al-A'raf (The Heights) — سورة الأعراف - **Verse:** 42 / 206 · **Juz:** 8 · **Mushaf page:** 154 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-araf/verse-42 ## Arabic وَالَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْساً اِلَّا وُسْعَهَاۘ اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ اَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِۚ هُمْ ف۪يهَا خَالِدُونَ ## Transcription Wallatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati la nukallifunafsan illa wusAAaha ola-ika as-habualjannati hum feeha khalidoon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley As for those who have iman and do right actions – We impose on no self any more than it can bear – they are the Companions of the Garden, remaining in it timelessly, for ever. ### Progressive Muslims As for those who believe and do good; We do not burden a soul beyond its means; those are the dwellers of Paradise, in it they will abide. ### Shabbir Ahmed On the other hand, those who attain conviction in Divine Laws and work to augment the individual and collective potential of humanity, will succeed in attaining paradise of their own making (3:136). (The paradise of people's own making will never be lost; it will be their heritage in the life to come (2:25), (3:133), (55:45-47)). And there they shall abide. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab But those whose hearts are impressed with the image of religious and spiritual virtues and their deeds with wisdom and piety, realize that We do not charge a soul with more than it can bear. It is they who have the rightful claim to Paradise wherein they shall have passed through nature to Eternity. ### Bijan Moeinian As to those who chose to believe and did good deeds, they are worthy of Paradise. After all, I do not ask more than one can take [to be eligible for ending up in Paradise and] to live there forever. ### Al-Hilali & Khan But those who believed (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism), and worked righteousness - We tax not any person beyond his scope - such are the dwellers of Paradise.
