Surah Al-A'raf (The Heights) — سورة الأعراف - **Verse:** 36 / 206 · **Juz:** 8 · **Mushaf page:** 153 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-araf/verse-36 ## Arabic وَالَّذ۪ينَ كَذَّبُوا بِاٰيَاتِنَا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا عَنْهَٓا اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ اَصْحَابُ النَّارِۚ هُمْ ف۪يهَا خَالِدُونَ ## Transcription Wallatheena kaththaboobi-ayatina wastakbaroo AAanhaola-ika as-habu annari humfeeha khalidoon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Who could do greater wrong than someone who invents lies against Allah or denies His Signs? Such people’s portion of the Book will catch up with them so that when Our messengers come to them to take them in death, saying, ‘Where are those you called upon besides Allah?’ they will say, ‘They have forsaken us,’ testifying against themselves that they were kuffar. ### Progressive Muslims As for those who reject Our revelations, and become arrogant towards them; then these are the dwellers of the Fire, in it they will abide" ### Shabbir Ahmed On the other hand, those who reject Our Revelations and scorn them, will dwell in the Hellfire to live therein, forever. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation But those who deny Our proofs and wax proud at them — those are the companions of the Fire; therein they abide eternally. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation As for those who reject Our revelations, and become arrogant towards them; then these are the dwellers of the Fire, in it they will abide" ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament As for those who reject our revelations, and are too arrogant to uphold them, they have incurred Hell, wherein they abide forever. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira But those who deny Our signs and disdain them, shall belong to Hell, where they will abide for ever. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) But the ones who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them - those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally. ### Muhammad Asad but they who give the lie to Our messages and scorn them in their pride-these are destined for the fire, therein to abide. ### Marmaduke Pickthall But they who deny Our revelations and scorn them - each are rightful owners of the Fire; they will abide therein. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary And those who reject Our revelations as false and turn away from them in arrogance, they shall be the inmates of Hell; and there shall they abide.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] Reference to the continuous unremitting punishment of the unbelievers occurs invariably on occasions where the Qur'an narrates the coming down of Adam and Eve from Paradise.
